Amateur Astonomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold a star party July 8 and 9 at Mingo Creek County Park Observatory. Safe solar observation will begin at 6:30 p.m., and night-sky observing will being about 9, weather permitting. Current events in astronomy and the park’s night sky will be discussed in the Richard Y. Haddad Planetarium throughout the night.
West Brownsville American Legion Post 940, 800 Middle St., will hold its annual Ride for Autism July 9. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the ride starts at 11.
