A 31-year-old woman is jailed on burglary and theft charges for allegedly breaking into a Franklin Township garage in the 2200 block of Smith Creek Road and stealing a truck in October.
State police found the truck, which was reported stolen Oct. 29, in Luzerne Township, Fayette County. In it, they found documents and items pointing them to Ledonna Lynn Lingenfield.
By Feb. 8, police had found her and interviewed her, telling them she rode her bicycle to the home of Mary Hopkins and entered it through an upstairs, unlocked window, according to the criminal complaint.
Lingenfield allegedly filled the truck with tools before driving it away from the house, the complaint said. She told police after she stole the truck and tools, she picked up a friend and drove to Brownsville before selling the tools for crack, the complaint said.
She told police she drove the truck around for a couple of weeks before getting it stuck in mud in Luzerne Township and leaving it there. Another witness told police Lingenfield showed up at his Carmichaels residence in the truck several times.
Lingenfield was charged Tuesday with burglary, receiving stolen property and two counts of theft.
She is being held at Greene County jail on $15,000 bond for another case in which she was charged in January with 14 counts of theft, 14 counts of receiving stolen property and eight counts of forgery. That case stems from an August incident in which Lingenfield allegedly stole a checkbook and forged checks at Walmart and Giant Eagle in Franklin Township and the Walmart in South Strabane.
