CANONSBURG

Assault arrest: Ryan E. Taylor, 34, of 201 Elm St., Canonsburg, is facing a new charge of harassment following his arrest Thursday night by borough police on charges of simple assault and harassment. Taylor was taken into custody about 7:45 p.m. after he allegedly assaulted his 38-year-old girlfriend at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released on $20,000 unsecured bond with a condition on no contact with the alleged victim. Officer Dennis Cole said Taylor violated the order by returning to the home about 15 minutes after his release from Washington County jail, where he had been taken for arraignment.

Landslide reported: Canonsburg police called the borough street department to clean a landslide that dumped dirt on a portion of a travel lane in the 600 block of West Pike Street about 12:10 a.m. Friday.

WASHINGTON

Faces charges: Shea Pryor, 31, of 172 Edgewood Drive, Washington, faces charges after Washington police said they found needles and stamp bags of heroin on the floor of his vehicle after it crashed about 11:20 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of East Maiden Street.

Warrant arrest: William Platt, 29, of Beverly, W.Va., was taken into custody early Friday on Highland Avenue by Washington police as a fugitive from justice after it was determined he was wanted on a warrant from Somerset County, N.J., on drug charges. Platt was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to New Jersey.
