Lottery computer upgrade will impact purchase of tickets

Players of the Pennsylvania Lottery might have a harder time purchasing tickets on Monday and Tuesday as a result of an upgrade of the Lottery’s computer system. Lottery officials say the upgrade is set to start after midnight Monday and will take until late in the day on Tuesday. Drawings will still occur, but players won’t be able to buy any Fast Play tickets or Draw Game tickets at Lottery retail locations or online. Draw Games include Powerball, Mega Millions, Treasure Hunt, Cash 5 with Quick Cash, Match 6 Lotto, Cash4Life and PICK family of games. Washington man headed to trial in woman’s fatal overdose

All charges against a Washington man accused of supplying the drugs that resulted in a woman’s death last month were held for court Friday morning. Allen Jay Gubanish, 35, appeared before District Judge Kelly Stewart for a preliminary hearing on felony charges of drug delivery resulting in death, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility. Stewart said an agreement had been reached between the district attorney’s office and Gubanish’s attorney, John Kalenish, to have the charges held without a hearing. Louisiana man accused of ‘doing donuts’ at Donegal farm

State police arrested a man from Louisiana Thursday morning after he was accused of driving his pickup truck while drunk in circles on farmland in Donegal Township. Raines Joe Billy, 29, of Covington, La., faces several misdemeanor charges including driving under the influence, agricultural vandalism, trespassing and simple assault. According to the criminal complaint, police were initially called to 247 Old National Pike shortly before 9 a.m. Billy had apparently driven his truck through a hayfield and started “doing donuts” before speeding away.
