Jim Reynolds has announced his retirement as pool director after 14 years of service. We will be sorry to see him go. Jim has been a great asset to the pool and one of the best recruiters we have ever seen. We wish him all the best.

Texas Roadhouse has once again graciously agreed to provide us with a fabulous prime rib dinner for our Dine Around the Pool event on Sept. 9. Entertainment, appetizers and dessert, of course, will be included along with a fabulous Chinese auction. To volunteer or donate to this community event, please contact This event will be cut off at 200 people due to space constraints, so please make your reservations early. Corporate sponsorship benefits are quite generous for this event with advertising posted throughout the entire summer. Tickets may be purchased at the tax office in the borough building or at the above email address.

The basketball court is finally finished. Many groups, including basketball, deck hockey and pickle ball groups compete for court time which is a great problem to have. Please be courteous when using the court with regard to music, noise and loud screaming as the voices and sound carry up into the residential neighborhood.

Video surveillance of the new area up to and including the softball fields is actively being monitored at this time for our community’s safety.

Canonsburg Town Park is in need of infrastructure / facility improvements. Pathways throughout the park need to be pulled up and replaced, and this is quite an expensive and time-consuming undertaking. We have several pavilions that need to be rebuilt/rehabbed and walkways and bridges all are in need of some TLC. We are also trying to revitalize all of our water fountains and playgrounds throughout the park.

The Canonsburg Borough and its volunteer park board will be seeking a grant from the local share casino funds in 2018. Matching funds will be requested from non-profit groups, Canonsburg Borough and private donations.

Please contact the borough for free top soil dirt (clean fill) from the Columbia Gas projects and Penn DOT programs going on around town – it is being stockpiled for future use throughout park.

The CMYGS (Girl’s softball) has great plans for the upcoming season. With several renovations and programs to enhance the softball fields, concession and sport, we look forward to see this area of our park expand.
