PENN HILLS – Hollis Mathis threw three touchdown passes to Donte Cephas and Penn Hill scored 27 unanswered points during its 33-17 victory over visiting Canon-McMillan in a nonconference game.
It was the first loss of the season for C-M (2-1) while Penn Hills (3-0) remained undefeated.
Penn Hills led 6-3 at halftime on a 63-yard pass from Mathis to Cephas. The do hooked up for touchdowns of eight and 35 yards in the second half, and Dylan Bennett returned an interception 55 yards for a score, as the Indians increased their lead to 33-3.
Canon-McMillan scored a pair of touchdowns in the final four minutes, on a one-yard plunge by Elijah Turner and a 21-yard pass from Jon Quinque to Litt Alred.
Josh Byers kicked a 27-yard field goals for C-M in the second quarter.
Mathis completed 13 of 21 passes for 255 yards. Cephas caught nine balls for 148 yards.
The Big Macs’ Anthony Sacco rushed for a team-high 51 yards on 19 carries.
