Road in Elizabeth Township will close for nearly two months

Due to replacement of the Wildcat Run Bridge No. 9, Rock Run Road is scheduled to close Oct. 4.

The Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced Rock Run Road in Elizabeth Township will close at 9 a.m. Wednesday due to the replacement of Wildcat Run Bridge No. 9, 100 yards east of Williamsburg Drive and adjacent to Butler’s Golf Course.

Traffic heading east on Rock Run Road will be detoured to Scenery Drive, Route 48, to Simpson Howell Road to Fallen Timber Road to Boyds Hollow Road and then onto Industry Road. Traffic traveling west will follow the detour in reverse.

All traffic accessing Butler’s Golf Course must do so from Industry Road. Local traffic on Rock Run Road will be maintained from Scenery Drive to Williamsburg Drive.

The closure is scheduled to last until the end of November.

The county’s $2.03 million construction contract to address four structurally deficient bridges is with Pugliano Construction of Plum.
