Greene County commissioners proclaimed the week of Sept. 24-30 Employ Older Workers Week. The proclamation recognizes the value older workers bring to the workplace and the important role they play in the workforce. According to the proclamation, by 2020, workers 65 and older are projected to increase by nearly 29 percent, while the working age population 20 to 64 is not projected to grow. Matt Uram, job developer at Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, thanked the commissioners for the proclamation and support. Uram also recognized the leadership of Nancy Riggle, Greene County supervisor of the SWPA Area Agency on Aging. Commissioners Dave Coder, Archie Trader and Blair Zimmerman presented the proclamation to Uram and Riggle and several older workers who are employed in Greene County.
