Firefighters work to put out a fire that destroyed a Cumberland Township residence Wednesday afternoon. Carmichaels Fire Chief Jim Higgins said the residents occupying the home, at 10 Biddle Acres, had just left the residence when the fire started about 4 p.m. Higgins said there were no injuries, and the Nemacolin and Rices Landing fire departments along with Southwest EMS provided mutual aid at the scene. Cumberland Township Police Chief James Vogel said the state fire marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire.
