Police Beat Oct. 7
Drug charges: Justin Leburn Smith, 23, of Pittsburgh, was charged by state police with possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop Thursday afternoon at Greene Plaza off state Route 21. Police said Smith was in possession of 107 baggies of suspected marijuana and a digital scale.
Theft: State police said someone stole four batteries from an excavator at a construction site at 10 Cook Ave. between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2.
Open lewdness charges: Michael A. Rickard, 25, of 133 Dunn Station Road, Prosperity, and Sarah Marie Blake, 27, of 323 Fourth St., Waynesburg, were charged by Waynesburg police with open lewdness and disorderly conduct for allegedly engaging in sexual activity while at Children and Youth Services in the Fort Jackson building, 19 S. Washington St., just after noon Sept. 28. Police said Blake was seen putting her hand down Rickard’s pants in front of the elevator, and the two allegedly engaged in sexual activity in front of several county employees. Police said they reviewed surveillance footage of the incident.
