Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.

Appearing before Judge Paul Pozonsky were:

Bryan Vanderkooi, 33, of 234 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg; theft, diversion of services; charged July 7 for stealing items from three homes on Cedar Hill Drive in Peters Township and stealing electricity from July 10, 2007, to July 13 at his former home at 107 Cedar Hill Drive, Peters Township; sentence - 3 to 23 months in jail.

Dennis Phillips, 29, of 519 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg; simple assault; charged Aug. 1 at his home for assaulting a woman; sentence - 30 days to 18 months in jail.

Wendy Bonner, 30, of 754 Sugar Run Road, Eighty Four; access device fraud; charged for applying for and receiving four credit cards using another woman's identification and charging $21,400 from Oct. 29, 2007, to April 28, 2008; sentence - 5 years of probation, restitution.

Brandon Culley, 23, of 157 Laura Drive, Clinton; access device fraud; charged Dec. 31 for using a credit card stolen from a Cecil residence; sentence - 23 months of probation.

Russell Bennett, 28, of 131 Church St., Weirton, W.Va.; unsworn falsification; charged for giving false information to police in Midway on Nov. 30; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Bessie Wheeler, no age listed, of 4777 Streets Run Road, Pittsburgh; theft by deception; charged May 5, 1999, for stealing $291 worth of items from Shop 'n Save in Washington; sentence - 18 months of probation.

Terry Isenhart, 41, of 1194 Findlay St., Washington; simple assault, terroristic threats; charged Dec. 28 for assaulting and threatening a woman at his home; sentence - 3 to 23 months in jail.

Ryan Shore, 20, of 118 Hillview Road, Jefferson Hills; second driving-under-the-influence offense; charged Jan. 2, 2008, following a traffic stop on Justabout Road in Venetia, testing positive for marijuana; sentence - Intermediate Punishment Program for 23 months with the first 6 months on electronic home monitoring and 3 months of SCRAM, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Christopher Hartley, 29, of 50 McKean Ave., Donora; possession of a small amount of marijuana; charged Sept. 14 at his home for marijuana plants growing in his yard; sentence - Probation Without Verdict program for 30 days.

Joshua Snyder, 28, of 135 Taylor Run Road, Monongahela; simple assault; charged Nov. 21 for assaulting a man at 205 W. Main St., Apt. 27, Monongahela; sentence - 12 months of probation.

William Criswell, 49, of 114 Church St., Monongahela; delivery of heroin; charged July 23 at his home for selling heroin to a confidential informant; sentence - 5 years of state probation.

Janet Barlow, no age listed, of 449 First St., Vestaburg; bad check; charged for passing two counterfeit money orders for $850 each in January 2008; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Tonya Goodnight, 41, of 12451/2 Dickson St., Pittsburgh; retail theft; charged for stealing $60 worth of items from Old Navy in the Tanger Outlets in South Strabane Township on Dec. 6; sentence - 3 to 12 months in jail.

Charlene M. Booker, 43, of 190 Jollick Manor, Washington; retail theft; charged for stealing $74 worth of baby formula from Shop 'n Save in Washington on Oct. 19; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Christopher Wilson, 25, of 569 Lovenger St., Braddock; DUI; charged July 5 following a traffic stop on Interstate 79 in North Strabane Township; sentence - 60 days in jail, $500 fine.

Scott Jeffers, 24, of 3025 Walton Road, Finleyville; simple assault; charged Dec. 28 for assaulting a woman at 2076 Nine Eighty Road, McDonald; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Joseph Yanniello, 37, of 1072 Lynn Portal Road, Washington; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Feb. 7, 2008, following a traffic stop on Grable Road in South Strabane Township; sentence - 12 months of probation.

William Russell, 50, of 1072 Route 519, Apt. B, Eighty Four; accidents involving personal injury; charged Dec. 8 for leaving the scene of an accident at O'Hare Road and Nine Eighty Road in Cecil; sentence - 12 months of probation.

James W. Quinn, 36, of 1474 Tyrone Road, Morgantown, W.Va.; altered/forged documents, possession of marijuana; charged Nov. 10 following a traffic stop on Henderson Avenue in Canton Township; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Justin Eckert, 32, of 27 Scenic Drive, Washington; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Dec. 4 at his home; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Juan A. Perez, 23, of 1110 Lower Meadow Ave., Charleroi; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Oct. 22 following a traffic stop on Fallowfield Avenue in Charleroi; sentence - 12 months of probation.

James Harris, 25, of 54 Kopper Kettle Road, Washington; theft; charged for stealing $200 in cash from Chicken Charlie's on Jefferson Avenue in Washington; sentence - 23 months of probation.

Russell W. Robertson, 45, of 40 Applewood Lane, New Eagle; second DUI offense, driving with a suspended license DUI-related; charged April 12, 2008, following a vehicle crash on Route 88 in Union Township with a 0.21 percent blood-alcohol content; sentence - 180 days to 23 months in jail, $2,500 in fines, drug and alcohol evlauation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Noreen E. Tartt, 51, of 564 Thompson Ave., Apt. 1, Donora; tampering with or fabricating physical evidence; possession of crack, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged July 26, 2006, for stealing money from a purse inside a car parked outside the Uni-Mart in Donora, and Dec. 13, 2007, for possessing drugs and paraphernalia and attempting to hide them at the Donora police station; sentence - 24-month State Intermediate Punishment program.

Also, Michael B. Grose, 30, of 10364 Turnpike Road, Summersville, W.Va., was admitted for 12 months for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged Feb. 10 at Wal-Mart in South Strabane Township.

If they successfully complete the 12-month program, they can petition the court to have their records expunged.

Appeared before Pozonsky and admitted to the ARD program were:

Faith Frenden, 27, of 344 Beacon Ave., Washington, was admitted for 6 months for receiving stolen property. She was charged Dec. 1 following a traffic stop at Jessop Place and Weirich Avenue in Canton Township.

Hannah L. Baum, 21, of 60 Bel Air Apartments, Apt. B, Washington, was admitted for 12 months for altered/forged documents. She was charged Oct. 13 following a traffic stop on Interstate 70 in South Strabane Township.

Brecklynne D. Naylor, 19, of 105 Third St., Monongahela, was admitted for 12 months for possession of marijuana. She was charged Dec. 4 at Ringgold High School.

Dorothy L. Lenzi, 38, of 1112 Shady Ave., Charleroi, was admitted for 6 months for retail theft. She was charged Oct. 16 at the Foodland in Monongahela.

Janet Chadwick, 45, of 1034 Wayne St., Washington, was admitted for 12 months for theft by deception. She was charged July 3 at Sears in North Franklin Township.
