During the annual breakfast meeting of Washington County Council on Economic Development, which is developing the park, WCCED Chairman Richard White said the council has already received $3.8 million in state, federal and local share gaming money as well as a $2.5 million loan to develop an additional 90 acres of pad-ready sites.
The council and its commercial real estate broker, Fourth River Development LLC of Pittsburgh, have already sold five of 12 lots in the first 148-acre phase of the development, where it is ready to launch construction of a second flex building after selling out all of the space in the first flex structure.
At least one of the five businesses operating in the park has already expanded since opening there two years ago, and continues to do steady business with customers in Europe, despite the global downturn of the economy, White said.
