Monongahela police Chief Brian Tempest said District Attorney Steve Toprani and members of the task force "swept into town" about 4 p.m. Thursday to serve arrest warrants.
Arrested were:
n Charlene Marie Gaidos, 38, of 37 Lafayette Way, Monongahela, charged with one count each of possession and intent to deliver heroin
n David L. Withum, 50, of 37 Lafayette Way, Monongahela, charged with two counts each of possession and intent to deliver heroin
n David L. Mellinger, 35, of 105 Ginger Hill Road, Finleyville, charged with one count each of possession and intent to deliver heroin
n John Buchta, 35, of 135 Adams Ave., Monongahela, charged with one count each of possession and intent to deliver heroin
n Brian Frank Barwell, 44, of 237 Pleasant View Road, Finleyville, charged with one count each of possession and intent to deliver heroin
n Daryl Demchak, 41, of 142 Wisebecker Lane, Monongahela, charged with four counts each of possession and intent to deliver heroin.
All six were arraigned via video before District Judge Valarie Costanzo, who placed each in Washington County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.
Tempest said the task force's investigation is continuing.
