A 17-year-old Peters Township teen is in Washington County Jail for allegedly assaulting an 18-year-old with a baseball bat Thursday night, causing serious injuries.

Taylor DiBart of 117 Simmons Road, McMurray, is charged with aggravated assault in the attack on Hunter Braden, 18, of McMurray.

At a news conference Friday, Peters police said Braden drove to DiBart's home and walked into the front yard about 5:20 p.m. DiBart came out of the house with a metal baseball bat and struck Braden once in the head and once in the shoulder.

Braden was later taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, where police said he is in intensive care with a fractured skull.  Police are continuing to investigate but do not have a motive for the assault. Copyright Observer Publishing Co.
