A suspended janitor will stand trial on accusations he threatened to kill everyone at his school if he ever lost his job.

District Judge Curt Thompson ruled Monday there is sufficient evidence to order a trial in Washington County Court for Michael Tiernan, 53, of Daisytown, on charges of making terroristic threats and harassment.

The ruling followed testimony at his preliminary hearing from a coworker, Thyra Blackson, who said he made the threat during a candid conversation about the economy while the two were cleaning at the California Middle and High schools. Tiernan was arrested May 14 by California Borough police. Copyright Observer Publishing Co.
