An unidentified motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle accident shortly before 4 p.m. Monday in front of Monroe Muffler & Brake Service on Route 19 in Peters Township.

According to eyewitness accounts, a motorcycle driven by a male in his late teens or early 20s collided with a car driven by a female of about the same age.

Brian Uram, who works at Shining Star Car Wash near the scene of the crash, said, "That bike came flying down the highway, and he put on his front brakes. She drove in here (the parking lot of Monroe) with him in the car."

One witness, who would not provide his name, said, "I heard the brake downshift and the crunch. He was in the passenger seat, the cyclist. He went through the side window."

Tim Beers, who also works at the car wash, was the first to arrive at the car and helped the female out.

"She was really scared and couldn't put the car in park," he said.

The motorcyclist appeared to have sustained serious injuries, he said.

The driver of the car had minor cuts, probably from the glass breaking, Uram said.

Peters Township police declined to provide additional information at the scene.
