BENTLEYVILLE – A Bentleyville building that was once a haunted house attraction went up in flames Tuesday night. Firefighters from six departments were called at about 11 p.m. to the former Castle Blood on Main Street.

It took firefighters about five hours to bring the blaze under control and were still dousing hot spots early this morning. The several-story wooden building has been abandoned for several years.

The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Firefighters are keeping watch at the building around the clock because it may be unstable. Copyright Observer Publishing Co.
