KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Amos Ramon hit a three-run homer in each of his first two at-bats Saturday and led Kalamazoo to a 10-2 thumping of the Wild Things at Homer Stryker Field.

Washington (16-25) has lost five of its last six games.

Ramon entered the game without a home run in 339 professional at-bats. His first homer gave Kalamazoo, the Frontier League's East Division leader, a 3-0 advantage in the second inning. He hit his second three-run blast one inning later to extend the Kings' lead to 7-0. Both home runs came off Washington starter Zach Groh (0-3), who gave up nine runs in 41/3 innings.

The Wild Things scored on Grant Psomas' RBI-single in the fourth inning and Ernie Banks' fielder's choice in the eighth.

Kalamazoo starter John Brownell (6-1) struck out five in eight innings.
