Elizabeth L. Gerba, 83, of Lemoyne, formerly of Brownsville, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in her home.
She was born December 25, 1924, in Vestaburg, a daughter of Kenneth and Louise Arnold Bachman.
Mrs. Gerba was a graduate of Brownsville Hospital School of Nursing and a volunteer with Red Cross blood drives.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce L. Palakovich and husband John A. of Camp Hill; a son, George K. Gerba and wife Irene of Spring Grove; three granddaughters, Katherine Lang, Julie Palakovich Carr and Lauren Gerba; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, George Gerba; a sister, Lois L. Pohill; and a brother, Kenneth Bachman.

James Scott "Noochie" Gregorakis, 46, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, in UPMC-Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a short illness.
He was born Thursday, May 24, 1962, in Canonsburg, a son of James "Gregy" Gregorakis of Canonsburg and the late Mary Lou Adams Gregorakis, who died November 1, 1984.
A 1980 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, Mr. Gregorakis was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA Chapter 156 and Pan Rhodian Society.
He was a self-employed business owner and owned and operated Noochie's Grille in Canonsburg since 2000.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are a son, James Gregorakis of Canonsburg; two daughters, Mary Lou Gregorakis of Canonsburg and Aubrey Gregorakis of Coral Gables, Fla.; a brother, George James Gregorakis of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Isabella and Gabriella Silvestros; and several aunts and uncles.

Pauline Kurincak, 87, of Carmichaels, formerly of Ronco and Nemacolin, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born April 29, 1921, in Crows Nest, Westmoreland County, a daughter of Paul and Bernice Mihalik Kucinic.
Mrs. Kurincak was a retired dispatcher from Monongahela Railway Co.
Her husband, Joseph Michael Kurincak Jr., died in 1977.
She was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church in Nemacolin and St. Hugh Church in Carmichaels and was a member of each church's Altar-Rosary Society. She was a sacristan at Our Lady of Consolation Church and sang in the funeral choir for many years. She was a member of Polish Heritage Club and loved to dance the polka.
Surviving are four sons, Joseph Francis Kurincak (Patricia) of Brecksville, Ohio, Bernard Kurincak (Elizabeth) of Carmichaels, Paul Kurincak (Kathleen) of Carmichaels and Mark Kurincak of Weston, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Sandra Switz (Phil), Angela Thomas, Bernard Kurincak Jr. (Donna), Debra Maraney (James), Brenda Ferek (Ron), Pamela Jo Greene (Jamie), Joseph Micah Kurincak, Colin Kurincak (Heather), Aaron Kurincak and Alex Kurincak; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia Kifus of Uniontown; and a brother, Rudy Kucinic (Eleanor) of Twinsburg, Ohio.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is a sister, Lillian Garchar.

WWII vet retired from Bethlehem Steel
Clifford E. Perkins, 83, of Clarksville, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in his home, with his loving family by his side.
He was born April 20, 1925, a son of Emmanuel and Myrtle Crawford Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a coal miner for 43 years and retired from Bethlehem Steel.
He was a life member of Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department, a member of American Legion Post 954 and United Mine Workers of America and a board member of Lower Ten Mile Sewer Authority. He was a Clarksville Borough councilman and election committeeman.
Mr. Perkins was a World War II veteran.
His second wife, Carol J. Sowden Perkins, survives.
Also surviving are his son, Kenneth W. Perkins Sr. and wife Peggy of McClellandtown; a daughter, Sharon Golmitz and husband John of Terra Alta, W.Va.; grandchildren Kenneth W. He was born October 27, 1941, in Monongahela, a son of Mark and Carrie Conlin Schreiner.
Mr. Schreiner retired in 2006 as a serviceman for Equitable Gas Co., where he served as president of United Steelworkers of America Local 1205 from 1996 to 2006.
A 1959 graduate of Monongahela High School, he was a member of Charleroi Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving are a son, Scott A. Cheiner of Carroll Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Wayne Parnell of Monongahela and Carrie and Daniel Olson of Ginger Hill; two stepdaughters, Dawn Kircher and Wendy Carr, both of South Park; a brother, Charles and wife Maryann Schreiner of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Dorothy and husband Eugene Trunzo of New Eagle; 10 grandchildren; and his companion, Barbara Klemens of Bethel Park.

Devoted to her faith
Julianne Syrek Trembour, child of God, died peacefully Saturday, August 9, 2008, at her daughter Melodie and son-in-law John Scherer's home in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., surrounded by those she loved and who dearly loved her. She was 85 years of age.
She was born July 16, 1923, in Washington.
Mrs. Trembour lived a life full of grace and kindness and passed into the loving arms of the Lord, whom she so loved, with the same grace that she lived her life. She now has been joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 60 years, Max, who predeceased her on April 13, 2003. She was a most devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She took great pride and received immense joy in spending time with her five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She will remain in the hearts of her family members forever and will be deeply missed.
She enjoyed many activities including golf, tennis, bridge, gardening, reading, knitting and oil painting. She also was a spirited fan of the Lions, Tigers and Red Wings.
She is survived by a son, Max (Jane); a daughter, Melodie (John) Scherer; grandchildren, Whitney Scherer Oosting (Todd), Julianne Scherer Mackay (John), Max IV (Theresa), Jennifer Trembour Bubka (Craig) and Robin Trembour Greisdorf (Jason); great-grandchildren, Taylor and Leah Oosting, John, Matthew and Elizabeth Grace Mackay, Piper, Max V and Grant Trembour, Alexander and Jane Bubka and Jade Greisdorf; brothers John, Richard and Terrance Syrek; and sisters Anne Daniel and Marguerite Gardner.
Also deceased are her parents; a sister, Shirley Montgomery; and a brother, Edward.

Harold Austin Wheeler of Lewisburg, Tenn., formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008.
He was born November 3, 1940, in Washington, a son of Calvin Earl and Frances Lela Wheeler.
A graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Wheeler served his country in the U.S. Army and was a youth director of First Baptist Church of New Chicago, Hobart, Ind. He was a longtime resident of Lake Station, Ind., where he was a member of Lake Station Ambulance Service, was an emergency medical technician and a firefighter 1.
Mr. Wheeler retired from LTV Steel Mill out of East Chicago, Ind., and was a teacher of crane operations/safety at Calumet College.
He was a loving husband and father.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Kay Wheeler; sons Calvin Earl Wheeler (Kim) and Shawn Allen Wheeler (Shawn M.); daughters Robin Lynn Williams (Randy) and Melissa Renee Armes (Russell); grandchildren Brian, Becky, Joshua, Travis, Michael, Kayelena, Jovi and Cole; great-grandchildren Noah, Joseph and Emma; two brothers, Lawrence and Thomas Wheeler; and a sister, Elvada Harvey.

Dr. Donna Corinne Needleman Young, M.D., 48, of North Strabane Township, died Thursday, August 14, 2008.
She was born August 3, 1960, a daughter of the late Oscar and Anna Duhon Needleman.
She was the beloved wife of William G. Young of North Strabane Township, whom she married December 21, 1991; loving mother of Darcy Nicole Young, 12 years old, and Grayson William Young, 10 years old, both at home; cherished sister of Gary (Karen) Needleman of Baltimore, Md.; and caring aunt of Rebecca and Bailey Needleman of Baltimore.
Dr. Young was a 1978 graduate of Woodlawn Senior High School in Baltimore. She graduated in 1981 from Maryland Institute of Art with a bachelor's degree in fine arts and in 1989 from New York Medical College with a doctorate in medicine.
She served as a resident of internal medicine from July 1, 1989, to June 1, 1990, at Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine and at University of Pittsburgh Medical School from 1990 to 1992, when she received her board certification in internal medicine.
Dr. Young was a member of Alumni Association of New York Medical College and American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She received the American Association Physicians Recognition Award in 2001. Dr. Young worked as a teaching attending at West Penn Hospital. She served as a partner at Washington Internal Medicine and Cardiology, medical director of the residency program at West Penn Hospital and director of occupational medicine for St. Clair Hospital, with offices at Oxford Place in Bethel Park and in Southpointe.
Dr. Young was a member of Upper St. Clair Alliance Church.
