Philip J. Agostinelli, 82, of Houston and formerly of Washington, died peacefully Monday, August 26, 2008, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 1, 1926, in his family home on Chartiers Street in Canonsburg, one of three sons of John and Assunta Agostinelli.
During 1944, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served for the remainder of World War II and was honorably discharged in May 1946. During his military service, he earned numerous accommodations for valor including the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and WWII Victory Medal. He served on the USS South Dakota as a seaman first class for three years in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Agostinelli enjoyed spending time with family and hunting, and he also enjoyed his dogs.
He was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington, where he volunteered as an usher.
Prior to his retirement in 1988, he worked as a first helper in the electric furnace in Jessop Steel for more than 32 years.
He was a member of Jessop Club and American Legion Post 175.
On October 6, 1951, he married Virginia Andy, who resides in Houston.
Surviving are a daughter, Rita Jo Agostinelli of Houston; a son, Philip J. (Laurie) Agostinelli Jr. of Houston; five grandchildren, Megan and Tyler Criswell and Briane, Chelsea and Philip Josh Agostinelli; a brother, John (Ann) Agostinelli; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Susan Criswell, and a brother, Jack Agostinelli.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 28, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, 320 Henderson Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, St. James Mausoleum. Full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 175 of Washington. Clairton, Chartiers Valley elementary teacher
Frances Elizabeth Serdi Allen, 75, formerly of Gladden Heights, McDonald, died Saturday, August 23, 2008, with her loving family by her side, in Golden Living Center of South Hills.
She was a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Serdi of Jefferson Borough, Clairton.
Mrs. Allen taught elementary students in Clairton and Chartiers Valley school districts. She also was a teacher and supervisor for Western School in Canonsburg. In addition to teaching, she served on Canon-McMillan School Board, was daycare supervisor for Washington-Greene Community Action and served as a past officer for McDonald Women's Club and McDonald Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband, Edward, a resident of Golden Living Center of South Hills, and a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Lawrence Watson of Mt. Lebanon.
Mrs. Allen will be missed by those who have known her. She touched many hearts and lives.

Anna Fuller, 95, died Monday, August 25, 2008, in Golden Oaks Personal Care Home, Follansbee, W.Va. She resided in Follansbee and was formerly of Burgettstown.
She was born January 27, 1913, in Smithfield, Ohio, a daughter of Mike and Anna Vukovich Mehollic.
Mrs. Fuller was married to John Fuller, who is deceased.
She was of Serbian Eastern Orthodox faith.
Surviving are a son, Donald George Fuller (Dolores) of Lorain, Ohio; and a brother, Eli Mehollic of Weirton, W.Va.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Doris Grubor; a son, John Fuller Jr.; and sisters, Mary and Stella Mehollic.

Valerie Christoff Hutchison, 74, a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, died Monday, August 25, 2008, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born January 17, 1934, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Charles and Alice Pratten Christoff.
Mrs. Hutchison was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Hutchison, whom she married on January 13, 1962; caring and loving mother of Wendy Bodnar Stants of Canonsburg; sister of John Christoff of Canonsburg; and grandmother of William V. Bodnar and Shaun Stants.
Also surviving are three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two sisters, Irene Hardy and Catherine Moskal, and two brothers, Theodore Honos Christoff and Charles Christoff.
Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation, WPA Chapter, 100 West Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

Nancy Lee Bird Milliken Moore, 63, of Carmichaels, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2008, in her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Saturday, February 17, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late James F. Bird and Juanita Gibson Bird.
Mrs. Moore was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was affiliated with First Christian Church of Waynesburg.
Knitting and crocheting were a favorite pastimes along with playing her keyboard and piano. She also loved any type of music and any movie that featured Elvis.
She was a former manager of McDonald's in Waynesburg for more than 15 years.
Her husband, LeRoy J. Moore, whom she married January 3, 2002, survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Tuggle of Carmichaels; two stepdaughters, Tricia Lutz of New Eagle and Karen Garber of Waynesburg; two sons, Michael Milliken of Mather and Russell (Rusty) Milliken of Clarksville; and a granddaughter, Tabitha L. Prevost, whom she raised since she was 3 months old.
Also surviving are 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Tharp and Barbara Cappellini, both of Virginia, and Ethel "Tootle" Phillips of New Freeport; and two brothers, William D. Bird of Ohio and Donald Bird of Claysville.
Deceased are her first husband, James Russell Milliken, who died February 5, 2008; a great-grandson, who died in infancy; and a brother, James F. Bird, who also died in infancy.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Milliken-Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, Daryl L. Ruth E. Stewart, 90, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, August 24, 2008, in Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was born March 7, 1918, in Washington, a daughter of Bessie and Earl Ammons. She was raised by her beloved aunt, Alta B. Price of Washington.
Mrs. Stewart was a medical office assistant for Dr. Gormly. She also worked for Fashion Hosiery and as a desk clerk for National Motel in Washington.
She was a member of Claysville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Stewart enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was married to Donald Wilson "Tiny" Stewart, a former Claysville resident, who is deceased.
Surviving are a daughter, Penny Lynn Stewart (Grose-Martin) of Loveland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jay Todd Stewart of Loveland and Summer Lynn Dietz of Columbus, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren, Jack Donald Stewart, Reed Anthony Stewart, Will Bradley Stewart and Gabriel Dennis Dietz.
Deceased are three brothers, Walter, Howard and Richard.

Wilma K. Whiteman, 97, of Wind Ridge, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2008, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
