Bridge replacement plans on display

Next week, the state Department of Transportation will display plans for bridge replacements on Clarksville Road in West Bethlehem Township and Route 519 in Mt. Pleasant Township.

The meetings will be held in open-house format, with Penn-DOT Officials and Project Team members present to answer questions and address concerns.

The West Bethlehem project consists of replacing the bridge superstructure carrying Clarks-ville over Barrs Run and reconstructing the approach road to safely tie into the new structure.

Construction is anticipated to begin next spring. During construction, all traffic will be detoured. Access to businesses and adjacent properties will be maintained throughout construction.

The display will be held to present the proposed project from 5 to 6 p.m. Sept. 17 in the West Bethlehem Township Municipal Building, 87 Jefferson Ave., Marianna.

In Mt. Pleasant, PennDOT plans to replace the bridge carrying Route 519 over Westland Run and reconstruct the approach roadway. Construction is anticipated to begin next spring.

During construction, all traffic on Route 519 will be detoured. Access to businesses and adjacent properties will be maintained throughout construction.

Plans will be displayed from 5 to 6 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Mt. Pleasant Township Municipal Building, 31 McCarrell Road, Hickory.

Any person requiring special aid to attend either session is asked to contact PennDOT prior to the meeting.
