Numerous people appeared Monday before Washington County Judge John DiSalle on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Those who entered guilty pleas also will attend repeat offenders school, undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, and have their driver's licenses suspended. They were:

Mark C. Smith, 19, of 3616 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton, W.Va.; first DUI offense; charged June 2 following a two-vehicle accident on Center Avenue in McDonald with a 0.089 percent blood-alcohol content; sentence - 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $500 fine.

Aaron A. Astle, 38, of 414 Oakland Ave., Charleroi; first DUI offense; charged July 13 following a traffic stop on Shady Avenue in Charleroi, refused BAC testing; sentence - 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine.

Carla A. Swoger, 41, of 156 Rose Ave., Washington; first DUI offense; charged July 31 following a traffic stop on Maple Avenue in Washington with a 0.12 percent BAC; sentence - 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $500 fine.

Robert C. Paholsky, 37, of 200 California Road, Brownsville; first DUI offense; charged July 6 following a traffic stop on California Road in California with a 0.193 percent BAC; sentence - 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine.

Robin M. Nestor, 32, of 879 N. Main St., Washington; first DUI offense; charged June 23 following a one-vehicle accident on Lone Pine Road in Amwell Township with a 0.17 percent BAC; sentence - 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine.

John D. Kelley, 45, of 1116 Sycamore St., Washington; second DUI offense; charged June 3 following a traffic stop at Walnut and Franklin streets in Washington with a 0.154 percent BAC; sentence - 30 days to 6 months in jail, $750 fine.

Terrell L. Hudson, 39, of 122 Ridge Ave., Apt. A, Washington; first DUI offense; charged March 22 following a traffic stop at Main and Maiden streets in Washington, testing positive for marijuana; sentence - 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine.

Numerous people were admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first-time offenders. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to have their records expunged. They were:

Chiff, 53, of 203 Coal St., McDonald; James C. Bumgard, 34, of 25 Grace St., Imperial; and Gayle M. Benack, 52, of 311 Hunting Creek Road, Canonsburg.
