Retired machinist enjoyed fishing and bowling
Ralph L. Barnes Jr., 51, of Washington, died in his home Thursday, July 2, 2009, following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 23, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Anna Lou Wright Barnes of Bentleyville.
Mr. Barnes was a 1977 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, Canonsburg, and SNPJ in Strabane.
He was a retired machinist, having worked for Industrial Gasket and Shim Co. for 20 years.
Mr. Barnes enjoyed fishing and bowling and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
On August 12, 1978, he married Linda Darlene Ruse, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a son, Ralph L. "Chip" Barnes III of Bentleyville; a daughter, Marsha Darlene Barnes of Washington; two sisters, Deborah Campbell of Bentleyville and Cheryl Smittle (Don) of Washington; and several nieces, nephew and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are his maternal grandparents, Clarence M. and Elizabeth Park Wright.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, in Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, Canonsburg, with the Rev. Donald Austin officiating.
