Monongahela man gets up to 100 years in prison

A Monongahela man was sentenced Wednesday to serving at least 50 years in prison for raping two young girls over a seven-year period.

Danny Ray Cintella, 50, of 104 Fourth St., was convicted by a jury on March 19 of more than 50 criminal counts, including rape, statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, following a trial before Washington County Judge John DiSalle.

On Wednesday, Cintella was sentenced to 50 to 100 years in prison.

He was also declared a sexual violent predatory following evaluation by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board. Subsequently, Cintella will be required to register his whereabouts for the remainder of life after parole in accordance with Megan’s Law.

Cintella was charged in October 2007 for assaulting the older girl from March 2000 through November 2001. The incidents began when she was 12 years old. The girl is now 21.

He was also charged for assaulting the younger girl from 2002 to 2007. The incidents began when the girl was 11 years old. She is now 18.
