Gateway Mine retiree attended Church of God
Ronald "Jughead" Johnston Sr., 63, of McDonald, Tenn., formerly of Carmichaels, went to be with Jesus Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in his home, after a brief illness.
He was born July 2, 1945, in Bobtown.
Mr. Johnston retired from Gateway Mine in Greene County.
He had attended Church of God in Carmichaels. He was saved June 24, 2009.
On September 3, 1969, he married Judy Patterson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Holbert and husband Jeff and Sherri Chapman and husband Phillip, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Annie Holbert, Sierra Johnston and Breanna Chapman; two sisters, Gloria Bonfili and husband Bruce of Morgantown, W.Va., and Doris Epperson and husband Don of Decator, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a son, Ron Johnston Jr.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., the time of services, Friday, July 3, in Jim Rush Funeral Homes, 220 Wildwood Avenue, Cleveland.
