Barbara Matalik, 68, of Burgettstown, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, in her home.
She was born March 31, 1941, in Burgettstown, a daughter of Steve and Mary Dragnett Krynak.
Mrs. Matalik was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown and its Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers.
On April 12, 1969, she married Aemil Matalik, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Maria (John) Fletcher of Mt. Washington; two sons, Christopher Jay (Chastidy) Matalik of Burgettstown and Edward Joseph Matalik of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two grandchildren, Alison Fletcher and Caleb Matalik; four brothers, Steve Krynak of Paris, John Krynak and Tom Krynak of Burgettstown and Mike Krynak of Bavington; and three sisters, Mary Ann Mankey of Claysville, Frances Keating of Follansbee, W.Va., and Patty Terhorst of Eldersville.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Robert Connolly, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Florence. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Burgettstown Community Library.
