J-M defeats West Greene late

Jefferson-Morgan used a major decision and two pins over the final three bouts to break a 30-30 tie and defeat West Greene 46-30 in a Section 2A-AA match.

The momentum swung both ways in this match as Jefferson-Morgan (2-1, 2-1) jumped out to a 30-3 lead with the help of four wins via forfeit over five bouts. Sandwiched in between was a pin by Joe Scrip at 215 pounds.

But West Greene (1-1, 2-2) responded with five straight victories. Dakota Riffle (119), Austin Barnhart (125), Colton Blumer (130) and Jordan Gifford (135) all won by fall and Jake Durbin won by decision to tie the match at 30-30.

The Rockets put the match away when Nick Miller won by major decision and Quincy hathaway (152) and Anthony Farrar (160) each won by fall.

Chartiers-Houston 74, South Park 3: The Bucs dominated the Eagles, winning all but one bout in a 74-3 rout in a Section 1B-AA contest.

Ryan Dodd (112), Andrew Vernau (125), Rich Trybend (145), Joe Schneider (160) and Marty Kisla (Hvy.) all won by fall for Chartiers-Houston (3-0, 3-0).

South Park dropped to 0-3, 0-3.

Mt. Lebanon 42, Trinity 24: Mt. lebanon won four matches via decision and those victories helped the Blue Devils to a 42-24 win over Trinity in a Section 5B-AAA match.

Mt. Lebanon (2-1, 7-6) also won three matches by fall. Steven Gannon (130), Jack Hnath (145) and Scott Allen (160) each won by pin.

Cameron Banasick (119), Dan Miller (189) and Kyle McWreath (215) all won by fall for Trinity (1-1, 1-1).

Southmoreland 37, Charleroi 19: Southmoreland improved to 3-0 with a 37-19 win over Charleroi in a Section 2B-AA match.

Tim Patterson (145) won by fall for Charleroi (1-3, 1-3).

Tyler Dell (125) won by fall for Southmoreland (2-0, 3-0).

Beth-Center 36, Washington 36 (B-C wins on criteria most first points scored): In a Section 2A-AA match that featured eight forfeits and two no matches, Beth-Center defeated Washington on tiebreaker criteria most first points scored.

The Bulldogs earned three of the four vctories from matches that took place, getting pins from Dominic Moore (152), Zack Holmes (160) and Cody Catalina (171).

Josh Beatty (130) won by fall for the Prexies (0-6).

Waynesburg 61, Upper St. Clair 11: Waynesburg lost only three matches in defeating Upper St. Clair, 61-11, in Section 4B-AAA.

Eric Jones (112), Derrick Nelson (125), Alex Teagarden (145), John DiBuono (152), Jimmy Ellis (171) and Jacob Butcher (hvy) had pins for the Raiders.

Josh Tropp had a pin for the Panthers at 130.

Bentworth 60, Jeannette 18: Bentworth improved to 4-0 after defeating Jeannette, 60-18, in a non-section meet.

Sam Lapcevic (119), Dylan Demain (135), Kyle Cline (145), Josh Rothka (160) and Derek Anderson (189) each had pins for the Bearcats.

Miek Depalmo (130) and Dan Peters (hvy) had pins for the Jayhawks.

Fort Cherry 48, Avella 13: Fort Cherry won the first four matches on the way to a 48-13 win over Avella in Section 1A-AA.

Adam Lucarini (125) and Kevin Mroz (152) had the meet's only pins, both for the Rangers (3-1, 4-1).
