Presidents suffer rare loss against Thiel
Amber Bodrick banked in a three-pointer with 27 seconds remaining to break a tie and give Thiel a stunning 90-87 upset of Washington & Jefferson in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at Henry Memorial Center.
It was the first victory for Thiel over W&J in 22 meetings.
W&J (3-1, 9-4), which plays Saturday at PAC leader Thomas More, the fifth-ranked team in NCAA Division III, lost for the first time in league play.

Bodrick made eight three-pointers and finished with 34 points for Thiel, which led by as many as 16 points in the first half. Jena Cook scored 14 points, which included four three-pointers. Jasmin Jones had 12 points and Kim Stitt 11.
The Presidents shot 61 percent in the second half and rallied to tie the game at 87-87 on a layup by Stephanie Smith with 53 seconds to play. Smith scored 19 points and made five three-pointers.
Maggie Gibson led W&J with 25 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Jen Rogers scored 12 points and Emily Hays had 10.
Westminster 59, Waynesburg 35: Waynesburg made only 2 of 25 shots in the first half and scored only eight points in the first 20 minutes. That offensive ineptitude led to a 59-35 win by Westminster Wednesday at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium in New Wilmington.
Waynesburg (0-4, 1-11) didn't make its first field goal until there was 2:53 left in the first half with Westminster leading 22-6. The Jackets missed their first 20 shots from the floor.
Waynesburg finished 11-of-46 shooting and had 22 turnovers in the game. Marquis Demniak led the Jackets with nine points.
Terese Marszalek led Westminster (2-2, 9-3) with 14 points. Rachel Martinko and Gina Brunetti each added 12 points.

Westminster 86, Waynesburg 77: Ryne Murray and Jake Zatchok each had double-doubles for Westminster as the Titans rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Waynesburg, 86-77, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game Wednesday at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
Murray led Westminster with 25 points and 10 rebounds. It was the sixth time he had a double-double this season. Zatchok had 10 points and rebounds.
Five Westminster (1-3, 3-11) players scored in double figures. Craig Hannon had 21 points for the Titans. Chauncey Whitlow and David Richards added 16 and 10 points respectively.
Tim Drakeley scored a game-high 29 points for Waynesburg (1-3, 6-6). Dan Happe had 16 points and Jason Clark 10 in the loss.
