Man charged with attempted homicide

A Clarksville man violated a protection-from-abuse order against him, struck a man with his vehicle following a domestic dispute and punched a state police trooper in the face while in police custody early Saturday, authorities said.

State police charged Jonathan Sellers with attempted homicide, aggravated assault while drunk, drunken driving, trespassing, harassment and aggravated assault.

Police said Sellers, 26, of 48 Pine St., violated a protection-from-abuse order against him when he sent a cellular phone text message to 24-year-old Amanda Sellers of Millsboro shortly before midnight Friday. He then appeared at the East Bethlehem Township residence where she was staying at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

When told to leave, Jonathan Sellers shoved Amanda Sellers, causing bruising to her arm, police said. Gaylord Knisely, 50, of Millsboro, also was at the residence and left to phone authorities.

Police said Jonathan Sellers got into his vehicle and struck Knisely, causing a serious leg injury. Knisely was taken to Mon Valley Hospital.

Arrested by police a short time later, Jonathan Sellers punched a trooper in the eye while in custody at the police barracks in Washington, police said. He was taken to a hospital in Allegheny County and was under evaluation.
