Boat stolen: Georgianna Farkas told Canonsburg police that a 1974 Smoker Craft 14-foot aluminum boat owned by her father, Frank Farkas, was stolen between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from 724 Giffin Ave. The thief likely pulled a vehicle into Fir Alley to steal the boat.

Porch fire: The state police fire marshal ruled that a fire about 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Personal Care Home, 119 Green St., Claysville, was a result of carelessly disposed smoking material. The fire on a covered porch caused about $2,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

Warrant arrest: William Keith Edmunds was placed in Washington County Jail Wednesday after state police said he is wanted on a warrant from Colorado, according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis.
Edmunds, 54, of 603 Johnston St., Pittsburgh, was seen on surveillance tape at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino at 4:45 p.m. taking a wallet and disposing of it after taking the money, police said.
He is wanted in Colorado on charges of possession of a controlled substance. Edmunds was arraigned before Ellis and placed in jail on $50,000 bond to await extradition.
SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP
Drug charge: Albert Morrell, 57, of 230 Cortez Drive, Canton Township, and Tonya Demaske, 23, of 102 S. Market St., Carmichaels, each face a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after South Strabane found them with a suspected crack pipe during a traffic stop Wednesday night at Murtland and North avenues. The driver, Kenneth Yeager, 48, of 312 Tollgate Road, Waynesburg, was charged with having a forged or altered plate on his vehicle.
Window broken: Vandals shot out a window with a pellet gun early Thursday at X-Mark, North Main Street, North Main Street Extension, South Strabane police said.

Purse stolen: A Washington woman told Washington police Wednesday night that her purse was stolen while she was at Mayrz Inn, 165 S. Main St. She was paying her bill and left her purse on the table near the pool table. The purse contained keys, a debit card and $36.
Police believe the purse was stolen by a white man in his 40s wearing an Army coat and black hat. He had long blond hair, large mustache and rough-looking face. Police said the description is similar to that of a man suspected of stealing a purse Tuesday at Henry Memorial gymnasium at Washington & Jefferson College.
Pit bull stolen: Kristia Moore of 295 Shirls Ave. told Washington police that her 8-month-old pit bull named Ladybug was stolen from her back yard along with its igloo dog box. The puppy weighs 40 pounds and is dark brown and white. It has a pet finder microchip.
Moore said the theft occurred between 6:45 and 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Animal control officer Kym Secreet told police that the theft fits the description of similar ones being committed by a local animal rights group. The dog box is stolen in an effort to discourage the owner from getting another dog.
TV, games stolen: John Fronk of 890 Duncan Ave. told Washington police Wednesday that a 20-inch television, DVD player and Xbox games were stolen from his apartment.
Warrant arrest: Issac Thomas, 48, of 575 N. Main St., Washington, was taken into custody early Wednesday after police saw him walking near North Main and Lincoln streets. Police knew he was wanted on an adult probation warrant. After he was taken into custody, police found two bags of suspected cocaine. He will be charged with possession of cocaine.
