WAYNESBURG - Plans for construction of a new building at Paisley Industrial Park in Cumberland Township were reviewed Monday by Greene County Planning Commission.

The commission granted final approval, with conditions, to plans by Fresenius Medical Care to build a dialysis center on Industry Road in the park. The company now operates a dialysis center in a nearby plaza, said Ann Bargerstock, county planner.

It plans to build a new 5,000-square foot building on 11/2-acres of land that it will purchase from Greene County Industrial Development Corp. The property is adjacent to the EMS Southwest building site.

Project engineer Rich Rush of Widmer Engineering said the development would include construction of a detention basin for storm water which will drain directly into the area's storm sewer system.

The building also will have 24 parking spaces, a patient drop-off area and a delivery area at the rear.

The commission granted final approval with conditions that the developer obtain a building permit and receive approval of the storm water management and erosion and sedimentation control plans.

The commission also approved plans by Carmichaels Borough to construct a new municipal building in town square.

The 920-square foot building will include offices for the police and the borough, a meeting room, utility room, closets and restroom. Plans were prepared by Fayette Engineering.

The plans were given final approval with two conditions: approval must be received for the storm water management plan and the erosion and sedimentation control plan.

The commission agreed to concur with plans for Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Franklin Township. Plans for the 153,430-square-foot building had received conditional approval last month from the township supervisors.

The commission also agreed to investigate further mobile homes that have been placed on two adjacent properties in Mt. Morris to determine if they constitute a mobile home park, subject to commission review.
