Former Taylorstown fire chief reaches plea deal

The former chief and secretary-treasurer of the Taylorstown Volunteer Fire Department has agreed to repay $30,000 of the money he is accused of taking from the department's coffers.

William Raymond McDonough, 43, of Claysville, will enter a plea next week on charges of theft and receiving stolen before Judge Paul Pozonsky. If he pays up, he will be put on four years of probation and have to repay an additional $20,000 over the term of the probation.
