Ohio man arrested, accused of raping Washington Co. girl This article has been read 85 times. By Amanda Gillooly Staff writer agillooly@observer-reporter.com An Ohio man accused of raping a local girl was apprehended in his hometown recently and will be extradited to face charges in Washington County, police said.
According to a report filed by state police, the girl told officers that William Dale Sudduth had raped her. State police issued an arrest warrant for the Barnesville, Ohio, man April 2. While police did not say when the man's hometown police department took him into custody, the report indicated that officials there apprehended Sudduth and placed him in Barnesville Jail until he can be returned to Pennsylvania to face numerous charges. In addition to rape, Sudduth faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of a minor.
The Washington County Jail's Web site indicated that Sudduth had not been admitted there as of press time. State police said the attacks occurred at 4409 state Route 40 in Donegal Township and indicated that Sudduth had assaulted the girl at "various" times and dates. Police had no additional information about the incident Thursday night, and it was still unclear how Sudduth and the girl knew each other. An after-hours call to the Barnesville Police Department seeking further information was not immediately returned Thursday night.
