Meeting recap Washington City Council n Date: May 8 n Action: A donation from Danny Isiminger of $500 each for the police and fire departments as a thank you for the city paying a long-standing invoice for vehicle services was accepted by council. Isiminger said he expects to present another $500 check to the street department. Council adopted an ordinance to permit the fire department to bill some insurance companies for materials and overtime when needed. Councilman Tom Blackhurst said residential property owners are not included. n Discussion: Council informed resident Brenda Davis she would receive information about the reason the city's solid waste bills increased by $50 a year. Councilman Terry Faust said work at Washington Park is under way despite a shortage of manpower. Faust said the fireworks fund is down almost $5,000, a more than $2,000 decrease in donations from this time in previous years. He said there is a need for a total of $13,000 to fund the July 4 display and requested donations.
