Geisler - Spencer

Bethany Marie Spencer and Derek Alan Geisler were united in marriage April 18, 2009, in Hickory United Presbyterian Church. Pastor Doug Reinard officiated the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

Her parents are Bob and Kathy Spencer of Southview. Her grandparents are Bob and Verna Main, Harold Purdy and Barbara Purdy, all of McDonald, and the late Robert Spencer Sr.

Parents of the bridegroom are Alan and Cindy Geisler of McDonald. His grandparents are William Geisler of Sturgeon, the late Jean Geisler, Margaret Hlavay of McDonald and the late Joseph Hlavay.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor for her sister was Kayla Spencer of Southview. Bridesmaids were Lauren Spegal of Bethel Park, Laura Toward of Washington, Heather Spragg of Hickory and Chelsy Geisler of McDonald, sister of the groom. Flower girl was Meghan Restino.

Jerome Damon of Pittsburgh served as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Dankert of Coraopolis, Dave McGuire of Canonsburg, Ricky Lukasik of McDonald and Dave Christafore of Morgantown, W.Va. Cole Mclean, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

A reception was held at Fairview Sunset Room.

The new Mrs. Geisler is a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and Bethany College. She is a special education teacher at Fort Cherry Jr./Sr. High School.

Mr. Geisler is a graduate of South Fayette High School. He is a department manager for Shop 'n Save in South Fayette.

The newlyweds will take a honeymoon trip to Disney World in June. They make their home in Sturgeon.
