A man who gave addresses of North Strabane Township and Blair County was arrested Saturday night by North Strabane police after he allegedly assaulted two police officers who responded to an argument.

Roger Pletcher, 51, who gave addresses of 60 Carl Ave., Eighty Four, and Duncansville, is accused of fighting with officers Kristopher Wagstaff and Michael Kroscko as they took him into custody.

Police were called about 9:30 p.m. to the home of Christine Hartner, 60 Carl. While en route, police learned that Hartner was being chased outside her home.

Hartner told police that Pletcher grabbed her and shoved her on to the couch. He also allegedly choked her and put a lit cigarette on her face. She was able to get out of the home with her four children, ages 3 to 12. Pletcher also reportedly grabbed and chased a neighbor who tried to intervene on Hartner's behalf.

Pletcher was sitting on the porch steps at Hartner's home when police arrived. Police said he was intoxicated and out of breath.

Wagstaff told Pletcher to put his hands behind his back. Pletcher refused and told Wagstaff that he was not going to be handcuffed.

After telling Pletcher at least six times to stand up and turn around, Wagstaff started to unbuckle the holster containing his Taser. Pletcher reportedly told Wagstaff, "If you hit me with it, I'm gonna get you."

Pletcher then grabbed Wagstaff and Kroscko. Wagstaff was able to fire the Taser. Pletcher surrendered after being hit a second time.

Wagstaff suffered a knee injury while Kroscko injured his thumb.

Pletcher was arraigned before Senior District Judge Jay Dutton on two counts of aggravated assault against a police officer and one count each of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

$5,000.00.... Thats pretty good for Mr. Dutton. Suprised he wasn't given ROR or unsceured bond. Thats what most get with him.
