Numerous people appeared in Washington County Court recently on criminal charges.

Appearing Friday before Judge Paul Pozonsky were:

Christine Rossetti, 36, of 142 Valley Road, Eighty Four; third driving under the influence offense; charged Dec. 30 following a traffic stop on Route 19 in Canonsburg, testing positive for drugs; sentence - 6 to 23 months in jail with the minimum sentence served on electronic home monitor and SCRAM, $1,500 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Rory T. Bistarkey, 21, of 3741 Millers Run Road, McDonald; theft by deception; charged for selling a confidential informant fake drugs on Jan. 29; sentence - 3 to 12 months in jail.


Brandon Petticord, 30, of 522 Long Drive, New Eagle; access device fraud; charged for using a New Eagle woman's credit card to charge $2,549 on Jan. 22; sentence - 6 to 23 months in jail.

Appearing Wednesday before Judge Janet Moschetta Bell were:

Shawn Povich, 31, 13240 Spruce Run Drive, North Royalton, Ohio; possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; charged July 15 at a North Franklin Township motel when he was found with marijuana and a smoking pipe; sentence -12 months probation, drug and alcohol assessment and treatment, and forfeit $880 in cash found in the motel room.

James McDuffie, 37, formerly of New Eagle; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Oct. 2 when found sleeping in Tubby Hall Park, New Eagle, before fleeing from police who found a sleeping bag and other possessions in the park including drug paraphernalia; sentence - 12 months on probation, drug and alcohol assessment and to complete anger management classes.

Margaret Maczko, 73, 1903 Main St., Burgettstown; hindering apprehension and obstructing the administration of law; charged Nov. 11 after attempting to hide her granddaughter's father in the bathroom when police arrived to arrest him on a warrant; sentence - 12 months probation.

Richard Mauro, 19, 5200 Brightwood Road, Bethel Park; theft and defiant trespass; burglary charge dropped; charged Dec. 9, 2006, after entering an apartment on Route 88, Finleyville, and with stealing cash and property valued at $1,040 from two residents; sentence - 36 months of probation, restitution of $1,040 and no contact with the apartment residents.

Gordon Malone, 41, 2001 White Oak Drive, Morgantown, W.Va.; accident involving death or personal injury; charged Dec. 2 after leaving the scene of an accident on Interstate 79, Cecil Township, in which the other driver's car rolled, injuring her; sentence - 24 months of probation, 100 hours of community service, $50 restitution to the driver and fined $50 for traffic summaries.

Steven Streng, 25, last known address 89 S. Kings Creek, Burgettstown; simple assault, disorderly conduct; charged Sept. 17 after striking Charlene Geyer in the face and shoving her to the ground while she was holding their 5-month-old daughter; Geyer and the infant suffered bruises; sentence - 12 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 3 months under intensive supervision, drug and alcohol assessment, complete domestic violence counseling, anger management classes and parenting classes, restitution to Geyer not to exceed $900.

Michelle Williams, 38, 2816 Sebolt Road, South Park; theft and access device fraud; charge of identity theft dropped; charged after obtaining a credit card in her grandmother's name and charging $4,751 between Nov. 2, 2006, and March 26, 2007; sentence - 12 months of probation, restitution of $4,751.

L. Raymond Mason, 33, 324 Linmar Terrace, Aliquippa; possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; charge of possession with the intent to deliver dropped; charged by South Strabane Township police following a traffic stop Oct. 4 on the entrance ramp to Interstate 70 when found in a car with marijuana and paraphernalia; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Matthew F. Eisel, 21, 119 Sugar Camp Road, McMurray; reckless endangerment, simple assault and disorderly conduct; charge of aggravated assault dropped; charged after assaulting Scott Jones with a car during an argument outside a house on Clubview Drive, McMurray on July 7; sentence - 30 days to 23 months in jail to be served on weekends beginning Friday, complete anger management classes, no contact with Jones or his mother, and restitution of $3,000 to the Jones family.

Appearing Tuesday before Pozonsky were:

Rhonda Lehman, 52, of 6221/2 Fayette St., Washington; endangering the welfare of a child; charged Jan. 26 for locking a child in a dog cage after he put household cleaners in other family members' drinks; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Sharon Cilia, 49, of 446 Avella Road, Avella; second DUI offense; charged July 28 following a traffic stop on Berry Road in South Strabane Township, testing positive for drugs; sentence - Intermediate Punishment Program for 6 months with the first 60 days on electronic home monitoring and SCRAM, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Gregory P. Jones Jr., 19, of 524 Brookline Drive, Weirton, W.Va.; loitering; charged Nov. 27 at Ianetti's Garden Center in Burgettstown; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Regina Stepp, 28, of 201 Castle Ridge Road, Marianna; simple assault; charged for assaulting a woman at 19 N. Main St., Washington, on April 7, 2007; sentence - 30 days to 12 months in jail with 60 days of electronic home monitoring after serving her minimum sentence.

Robert L. Gatling Jr., 57, of Washington; second first DUI offense; charged Feb. 11 following a one-vehicle accident on West Maiden Street in Washington with a 0.178 percent blood-alcohol content; sentence - 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Jeffery Crompton, 19, of 130 Crescent Drive, Washington; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Jan. 12 following a traffic stop at McDonald's in Trinity Point, South Strabane Township; sentence - 12 months of probation.
