We'd better listen to Bernanke

This article has been read 1591 times.

To his credit, Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke has warned of serious economic consequences on the horizon if action is not undertaken to rein in multitrillion-dollar annual deficits, a phenomenon which would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

The question is whether anyone in authority is listening to Bernanke, whether his sage words will be heeded, and whether it is too late even if the brakes were to be applied to excessive government spending today.

With the vast expansion in federal outlays that we have seen in the past year, come permanent expectations by those who benefit. The nation has told companies that are "too big to fail" that they can count on being rescued, the entitlement for individuals to have and raise a family at the expense of others has been expanded, and a host of new and enhanced benefits has been provided to lower-income individuals. How will the new expenditures ever be scaled back and expectations radically altered? Does anyone believe that this president will risk headlines that indicate his intent to end or reduce welfare programs?

There is a bipartisan band of profligate spenders in Congress which threatens the future of our nation and which is in the process of savaging the standards of living that this generation and future generations will be able to enjoy. Surely the president and most members of Congress will turn a deaf ear to the plea of Chairman Bernanke. They do so at the peril of every American.

Who needs work?

I am an elderly person with many physical infirmities and consequently have trouble cleaning my apartment. I placed an ad for someone to clean and received innumerable calls. Not one of the people who called ever showed up, except for one and I don't think she was interested in any cleaning. She never returned.

I then asked many folks who are on SSI and seem to always need money if they were interested and got the same results, especially after I mentioned that some things may have to be moved.

My point is that if the job market and the economy is so bad, why is it I cannot find anyone to perform these tasks for pay?

Silence is deafening

During the administration of the last president, there were plenty of dissenting letters from the leftists with the courage to have their names printed, published in these pages. Most of them never seemed to incorporate the fact that again and again the preeminent supporters of conservatism who write here, Joe Furjanic, John Quayle and I spoke against George Bush's fiscal irresponsibility.

We now have their president and party in power and there hasn't been a peep of protest. We have headline after headline of stories that just might draw at least a whimper of protest, headlines like "Obama bows to Saudi king." Didn't they howl about the Bush family connection to the House of Saud? Headlines like: Obama nationalizes GM and Chrysler;" "Obama fires GM CEO;" "Obama proposes cap and trade tax, to cost average family $3,000 more a year;" "White House party serves $100 a pound Kobe beef;" "Obama's New York City date costs taxpayers thousands."

What headline will it take for one of those dedicated leftists or the cowardly ones who comment anonymously on the online forum in letters to the editor to actually come forth and stand against something the anointed one does? "Obama declares America one of the largest Islamic states;" "Obama apologizes for American arrogance;" "Obama says no state above any other." These have all passed, and the silence is deafening.

Maybe it will take "Obama interrupts American Idol with State Of Union address" or "Joe Biden, secret Rush robot, straps tooth paste tubes and crayon detonator around body in assassination attempt on self, Limbaugh arrested."

Please don't take

Ryerson Park away

I am a 7-year-old boy who wants to keep Ryerson Station State Park open. I have no swimming pool. Probably a whole bunch of people do not have a swimming pool. Ryerson is the only place I know to go swimming. I go fishing there sometimes. You can go camping there. You can have picnics there. You can have parties there. There is day camp there. There is Arts in the Park there. There is wildlife and nature to see. If a child a has no playground he can just go to Ryerson. You can walk your dogs in Ryerson or you can go hiking there. There is nowhere else close enough for this stuff. So don't take my park away. Please don't take everybody's park away.

and will be a blessing when the likes of Cady,Furjanic,Spiegler, etc say something constructive about anything. Their doom & gloom is typically hypocritical right-wing rhetoric. How nice it is to sit behind the keyboard & ramble. Get out in the public eye & run for local gov't & show these leftists that you really do have a plan & make your neighborhoods totally crime free. You won't, because you can only ramble.

Stephen Cady : 6/10/2009
You and your buddies never criticized the republicans or Bush by name. In fact, you only blamed the democrats for the harm they supposedly created after they gained control of the house in Bush's last 2 years. You sir, are a liar.

When did you speak against Bush's fiscal irresponsibility? I typed "Stephen Cady" into the search box and only got letters to the editor that demonize democrats and predict chaos and dispair... You want criticism of Obama? Ok... I find his relentless resistance to being strongly and openly in favor of gay marriage to be the absolute height of dissappointment. For a man to take such a pragmatic, reasonable, and logical position on so many issues, but to not take a very minor political risk on a civil rights issue... it's disappointing. His political future will be made or broken on the economy... not only can he afford to support gay marriage, politically, but his consistent opposition may work to his political detriment. As far as all that other stuff you mentioned... I don't lose any sleep over it.

Thank you for your letter calling out the left wing nuts. You are absolutly correct they will not complain publicly about the subjects you just mentioned. I work with one just like them and not a peek has come out of her mouth. She seems like a sensible person who should be bothered by these things like she was totally vocal during the campaign so what happened. They just will not citicize him

Look at the 'please tax us ' thread if you want to see constructive ideas. As far as running for office, I was involved in one county wide campaign, and it turned me against ever running for any office. In this day and age, you'd have to give up your real job to run for anything more than a local position. You want crime free neighborhoods? Put a gun in every house, and if someone breaks in, shoot the bastard. As far as sitting here giving opinion, look at the US Constitution, Amendment #1. Nothing there about free speech for only those running for office or the country into the ground. Silky, look at the time line of the market collapse and who was running the House. During the first six years of Bush, the DOW was at record highs, unemployment at record lows, and growth of the US economy at an 8% annual rate. Now, Barack The Carmaker ran a line of jive past us that if we didn't pass his $ 787 Billion stimulus, we'd exceed 8% unemployment. We're at 9.4% and growing as Government Motors and Chrysler shed dealers under a government steering committee with no one that knows the first thing about cars. Well, if we can have a President getting on the job training, guess the automobile task force can as well.

I am sometimes a liberal. I give people with bad pasts a second and third chance. I keep hoping they will change. One of my employees has been to rehab 3 times, prison twice ( second one for parole violation) and in numerous programs. He has appllied for SSI because he is an addict. He gets welfare, including a clothing allowance to look for a job (which he already has0. He gets a paid baby sitter so he and his lazy underemployed wife can work. He gets taxi rides to certain testing centers. Of course he has a medical card too. He has free counseling and many other options with CARE and other agencies. I pray he will make it this time, but he probably won't. His history is falling off the train. I have hired many recovering addicts. Over the last 10 years I have hired maybe two dozen. I only know of two of them who really made it. Nationwide, these type of programs must just cost billions with no accountability. He was complaining the other day because "welfare screwed something up" and he had to walk to their office to get it fixed. The entitlement mentality kicks in and you are right. YOu will never get it back. It's insane.

Cry Me A River...Cady : 6/11/2009
This is the same old right wing garbage dumped here on a regular basis by nutcases with little else to do in their lives...aka Stephen Cady & Joe Hater. Their rantings are chock full of hate for Obama and anyone who does not agree with their radical right views. Then when they get called on...with their numerous factless...baseless lies they perpetrate here...the righties whine and cry...and play the eternal victim. No one on the other side has made deviate sexual remarks concerning George and Laura Bush...yet it is ok for Joe Furjanic to suggest sex acts involving a pic of Obama and his wife. How is that in anyway acceptable? Cady and Joe Hater are so sickly obsessed with their hatred for Obama and the Dems. Cady lies when he says he has been critical of Bush. He would like us to call out Obama's sins while ignoring eight awful years under Bush...the most arrogant, corrupt, incompetent and criminal administration in modern American history. The far right crazies are pumped up with daily doses of right wing propaganda straight from the mouths of demagogues like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. These and others incite the lunatic fringe of their movement to violence. Bill O'Reilly went after the abortion doctor...George Tiller...till a pro-life extremist shot him to death in his own church. The white supremacist...with a hate for Jews and Blacks committed murder yesterday in...of all places...the national Holocaust Museum & Memorial in Washington, D.C. Joe Hater would be the first to defend his Second Amendment rights...just like he did with the cop killing right wing nutcase in Pittsburgh. It was ok for Bush to hold hands with the Saudi king and kiss him on both cheeks? Cannot have it both ways...Cady. When are you going to stop relying on Fox News and the right wing for your sources of information? It is understandable that your ilk is upset...getting your asses kicked in both 2006 and 2008...with no near term chance of regaining the power your leaders so badly abused. You need to fully embrace the Bush legacy...not hide from it...or pretend it does not exist. The massive debt...the severe economic recession...2 major wars...the 9/11 attacks, Katrina...all belong to Bush. If you blame Obama for what takes place on his watch, you must also accept the same for Bush. Again. you cannot have it both ways! The name calling, the vicious attacks and smears posted here...even extend to Obama's wife and girls. Your side crosses the line of decency and civility everyday in this forum...so do not expect sympathy or compassion from those who vehemently disagree with your language and tone...and that of your sidekicks.

who's picking on you now? you and joe f. suffer from huge persecution complexes... does criticism of your extremist views and agenda sting that much? funny...but you do not hear the other side boo hoo and point the finger at you. if you are going to throw slime in this forum on a regular basis...you must not be surprised when some of it comes back onto you. racist (use of the words like "wetback"...and "massuh")and perverted comments (describing a sex act using a picture of the obamas)made by your buddy joe f. do not elevate the conversation. instead...they reflect badly on the twisted mind of the poster. when did obama ever refer to this country as "one of the largest islamic states"? you spread a lot of right wing propaganda here...for which there are no facts...from credible sources... to back it up. your protestations of being mistreated and abused here have become ever so boring and tedious... you want to play ball in the big leagues...but only if you make the rules... if you think you and your pals can make outrageous hateful vile rascist and sexually deviant remarks here...and expect a mild reaction or no reaction at all from others...you are sadly mistaken.

playing the victim yet again...

Don't associate the whole party with the radical few.

The Politics of Hate... : 6/11/2009
Right wing fanatics...armed with weapons have begun taking their hostility out on Americans they view as the "enemy". In Philadelphia and in Pittsburgh, far right extremists have killed a total of 5 police officers. Fearing exactly what they had been brainwashed to believe by the NRA and the gun lobby...that Obama and the Feds would take their arsenals away...they shot first...and with the deadliest of force... After months of attacks by Bill O'Reilly and other demagogues on the right, a pro-life terrorist stalked then shot dead George Tiller, an abortion doctor, as he worshipped in his own church. As awful as abortion is, Mr. Tiller was breaking no laws in the performance of his job. Now, a white supremacist, whose hatred for Jews and Blacks inspired his actions, killed a black security guard at the Holocaust Museum In Washington, D.C. The guard may well have given his own life protecting hundreds of others...many of them children...within the museum itself. When is the right wing going to realize that their hate speech carries consequences. When the Department of Homeland Security recently released a report of the dangers these radical right groups pose to America, it was immediately attacked and ridiculed by the right wing media demagogues...Rush Limbaugh...among others. Read the report... It was basically a foretelling of what now has occurred. The right wingers who spew their Obama hate here are just as culpable. They incite the armed crazies in their midst to do deadly harm to people who disagree with their extreme viewpoints. When they attack Obama, his wife, and children, on the most personal and disgusting of levels, it earns them no credibility with this forum's readers. Americans abhor hate speech...and acts of hate like these senseless killings. The recent murder of a military recruiter in Arkansas by a muslim fanatic is just as heinous. The absolute toxic postings here should be replaced by constructive dialogue...Info presented as fact needs to have credible sources. Fox News is about as reliable a source for the Right as MSNBC is for the Left. Talking heads like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity and company are hucksters...getting rich by reeling in the political suckers...getting filthy rich as they sell tickets to their next personal appearance...or mugs...or tee shirts...or latest books. What they say and how they say it...is irresponsible at the least...and complicit in cold blooded murder at worst.

When will this reckless hate speech end?

"preeminent supporters of conservatism"? ha ha ha ha ha ha : 6/12/2009
you've got to be joking! right wing extremists...maybe...but don't try to legitimize your looney views as "conservatism"... barry goldwater and ronald reagan must be doing cartwheels in their respective graves to see you portray yourself as a conservative. preeminent too? few share that overinflated opinion you have of yourself and the crazies you run with... radical haters like you give the conservative movement an ugly image. you denigrate and attack everyone who does not agree with you. you call names and use smear tactics...because your doctrinaire ideology has no answers. you would sooner destroy the GOP before allowing it to accept points of view that differ from your own. you joyfully wear the political strait jacket given to you by limbaugh and cheney. they seek to purge the party ranks of moderates...preferring exclusivity...that will not win the republicans a single election. long gone are the days of true conservatism...ronald reagan's big tent and reagan democrats no longer exist. but in 2008 you saw lots of obama republicans in formerly red states like virginia, north carolina, indiana, iowa, colorado, new mexico, and florida...just to name a few.

Cady speaks...out of both sides of his mouth... : 6/14/2009
He bemoans the lack of civility in the tone of discourse here. Yet he is also one of the main perpetrators of the negativity. Referring to Obama as "the anointed one" is hardly a bridge to constructive dialogue. Cady wants his cake...meaning a recognition by supporters of Obama's mistakes...and the ability to eat it too...meaning a continuation of his own name calling and smears. Not once...not one time...in this forum...or the printed edition of the O-R has Stephen Cady uttered a single word of criticism of the numerous blunders of the Bush administration. If this is incorrect, Cady is hereby challenged to produce the specific letter to the editor or forum blog in which he "spoke against George Bush's fiscal irresponsibility". Guess that the rest of the Bush mess was not his fault. This is a typical right wing ploy...atack...attack...attack...then play the brutalized and persecuted victim when others respond to these despicable assaults. Cady's sleazy attempt to portray himself and his few cronies as the defenders of true conservatism is totally laughable. Real conservatives argue the merits of issues...rather than getting deep in the gutter and resorting to outrageous slander about their opponents. Cady and his kind give the label a very ugly name...hypocrite!

Now for the BAD NEWS...for you : 6/16/2009
Only 21% of Americans identify themselves as Republicans. Even the most conservative of analysts say that the demographics continue to move in favor of the Democrats. The Latino/Hispanic population, the fastest growing in the country, is solidly lining up to register Democratic. States that have been traditionally red for many years are now turning blue...Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, New Mexico, Indiana, Iowa, and Florida...as examples. With the current civil war going on in the Republican party, it is doubtful they will get their act together anytime soon. The GOP is drifting hard right...a place where they are incapable of winning elections. Moderates and independents are clearly turned off by this ideological purge. If my math skills are correct, according to your poll numbers, moderate + liberal beats conservative by a whopping 16%...and we are not even close to the 2010 midterms or the 2012 presidential contest. Paint as rosy a picture as you want of the right wing's prospects for rebirth...but the demographics win every time. They are definitely not trending to the GOP. In additional recent polling, the only gains made by the right was with church going white men. A poll is merely a snapshot of the moment...so don;t get your hopes up too high.

hate to crush your euphoria over a single poll but... : 6/16/2009
the american people do not identify with the messengers (dick cheney, rush limbaugh, newt gingrich...ect.) or the message (just say no to everything) of the radical right wing. they have quickly hijacked control of the GOP after the disastrous 2008 election. no one in their midst dare challenge rush limbaugh. if they do, they are required to grovel at his feet (michael steele, RNC chairman...for example) and beg his forgiveness. in elections held since last november, the republicans remain at 0-2...losing rahm emmanuel's congressional seat in illinois and kirsten gillibrand's house seat in new york state. gillibrand took hillary clinton's place in the u.s. senate. that contest was very interesting... scott murphy, the democrat, easily defeated his republican opponent to replace gillibrand in the house...in new york's heavily republican 20th congressional district. james carville's latest book is called 40 YEARS. in it, the former clinton advisor and political guru predicts that a democratic majority will continue to govern this country for the next forty years. maybe it will not be good bedtime reading for right wingers...as it is bound to cause some nasty nightmares!

Latest Gallup poll results that Joe F. ignored... : 6/16/2009
President Obama enjoys an overall job performance rating of 61%. 89% of Democrats, 59% of Independents, and even 25% of Republicans approve of the job Obama is doing as president. 88% of liberals, 71% of moderates, and a surprising 37% of conservatives like what they see. In the Gallup poll for the week ending June 14, 2009, Obama had the support of 75% of those aged 18-29, 58% of those aged 30-49, 62% among those aged 50-64, and 52% of those who are 65+. Nationwide, Obama's has positive ratings of 72% in the East, 64% in the Midwest, 52% in the South, and 59% in the West.

What Joe won't tell you... : 6/16/2009
The latest Gallup poll shows that women in America today are significantly more likely than men to identify as Democrats, and less likely to identify as independents; this “gender gap” exists across all ages from 18 to 85, and across racial, ethnic, and marital-status groups. Almost 4 out of 10 (38%) Republicans have an unfavorable opinion of their party, while just 7% of Democrats have an unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party; overall, just 34% of Americans view the GOP favorably. Republicans are most likely to name Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, and Dick Cheney as the “main person who speaks for the Republican Party today,” but almost half cannot name anyone in response to the question. Democrats overwhelmingly say Barack Obama is the main person who speaks for their party.

still more right wing hypocrisy... : 6/18/2009
the right wants to control what you do in your bedroom...but not what they do. republican senator john ensign of nevada is a great example. he condemned bill clinton over the monica affair and called for clinton's impeachment. now, the hypocritical conservative ensign has resigned the number 4 position in the GOP senate leadership after admitting to an affair with a campaign staffer. even newt gingrich, who was the leading the impeachment circus against clinton, was cheating on his wife at the time of the impeachment trial in the senate. republicans don't resign from office when their sexual transgressions are revealed. the irony is that these are supposed to be social value conservatives. guided by their ideological fanaticism, they want to regulate your private life. david vitter, republican senator from louisiana, remains in his senate seat...even after being exposed by the D.C. madam for using the services of her business. she said he enjoyed wearing diapers and being spanked. larry craig, the ex-republican senator from idaho, pleaded guilty to soliciting gay sex in a bathroom stall at the minneapolis airport... yet, he completed his senate term before retiring back home. mark foley, a republican congressman from florida, was caught sexually harrassing capitol hill pages...sending them lurid e-mails. foley had previously sponsored child protection legislation in the congress. what hypocrisy that the GOP pretends to stand for the sacredness of marriage between a man and a woman...something that its leaders consistently violate. hypocrites like john mccain, newt gingrich, rudy guiliani all cheated on their first wives...then married younger women. thse demagogues would impose the strictest of moral standards to american society...standards which they apparently don't think apply to their own personal lives. ted haggart, a supposed arch conservative evangelical preacher, often spoke vehemently against gays and their lifestyle. that is...until he was caught with his own pants down...soliciting homosexual sex and using illegal drugs. like another pulpit preaching hypocrite, jimmy swaggart, this virtuous pillar of social conservatism was found to have a taste for louisiana hookers. say what you want about the opponents of the right...but they do not attempt to impose their bedroom rules on others. the dems are no where near perfect but they don't consistently sermonize a particular set of social values while ignoring them in their own personal lives. it can be seen in this forum...where far right extremists...like joe hater...make sexually deviant comments regarding the first family. to suggest that someone should commit a sex act while holding a pic of obama and his wife clearly crosses the line in respect and common decency. perhaps the hater is just an amateur who is auditioning to jointhe company of these other "bad boys"...

the limited project that ABC News is doing with the Obama White House to the 24/7 Anti-Obama coverage of the infamous right wing mouthpiece...known as Fox News. This channel features a daily non-stop attack on Obama and his policies. Fox News does not even broadcast important news events such as White House press conferences...preferring to offer snippets of Obama's words interlaced with partisan shots from their commentators. For the right wing propagandists to call Fox a credible news organization in any sense is nothing but pure fantasy. When not slamming Obama and the Dems in their so-called "news" segments, they give lots of valuable air time to the far right talk show demagogues. Sean Hannity has ditched his long time liberal sideback, Alan Combs, so he can devote the full hour to bashing Obama. Along with Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck and their frequent guests...Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich, and Dick Cheney...they fill their program schedule with nothing but lies, rumors, and twisted truths.. just more phony baloney from JOE...the right wing drama queen...

the truth about the north korean threat... : 6/18/2009
joe is a real pro when it comes to the dissemination of half truths. yes indeed...north korea has nuclear weapons...and is developing ballistic missle capabilities. however, this did not occur in the five months that barack obama has been president of the united states. rather, the bush administration's failed policies on the korean peninsula are the direct cause. when bill clinton left office, the united states was actively and directly engaged with the north koreans. bush ended these conversations and added north korea to his "axis of evil" list. shortly after came the pre-emptive u.s attack on iraq and the removal of saddam hussein from power. fearing a similar move against themselves, the north koreans decided to push ahead with the development and testing of a nuclear weapon...as their own deterrrent to america's regime change mentality. only several years later, after it was clear the north koreans were working on a bomb, did the bush administration agree to re-engage pyongyang...but only through a six party set of talks to include south korea, japan, china, and russia. an agreement was finally reached...the fuel and food aid sought by the north koreans was delivered...and bush removed north korea from its list of terrorist nations. the indisputable fact remains...that prior to bush becoming president...north korea did not have nuclear weapons nor a ballistic missle capability. when bush left office...barely five months ago, kim jong il had both. now the obama administration's options are few. obama has sought a strong resolution in the united nations...backed by both china and russia...to condemn the north korean nuclear program and to place additional sanctions on that country. this includes the authorization to stop north korean ships and search them for nuclear materials they may seek to sell to other nations. this brings with it a high risk of military confrontation on the high seas...and a more deadly response on the korean peninsula. the south korean capital of seoul is less than 30 miles from the DMZ...which splits the two koreas. factor into all of this a succession drama taking place in north korea where the ailing kim wants his youngest son to eventually succeed him. ascribing the worsening situation there to obama is just plain nonsense. apparently, right wingers like joe are only able to think on the most basic of levels when it comes to foreign policy. their answer to every world problem is use of the military option. unfortunately, that option was used so much to the extreme by bush, our armed forces are overextended and exhausted. meeting a challenge today by the communist north on the korean peninsula would be a very difficult if not impossible task. an assault by the north koreans into the south would result in a catastrophic loss of civilian lives. the north is known to possess a large stockpile of chemical and biological weapons. the non-existent WMDs bush was looking for in iraq are in north korea.

GM is also expected to be out of bankruptcy soon. bad news for you! your continued name calling of president obama has become very overused, tedious, and downright boring. the only person who thinks you are clever is YOU... your time is much better spent researching all the subjects you are so misinformed about. you cannot expect to devote all of your free time to your porn sites. should senator john ensign (r-nevada)resign his senate seat for having an affair with a campaign staffer and used his influence to get jobs for her husband... you hypocritical right wingers wanted to impeach bill clinton for much less. newt gingrich has admitted cheating on his wife DURING the impeachment process in the house. why was it ok back in 1979 for the feds to help bailout chrysler and lee iacocca but not now? how many more auto industry jobs would be lost if we let GM and chrysler go down the drain? why should you care...hater? after all, you got your non-union kiss-arse job to protect you...

what's left of hater's mind is a terrible thing to waste...

Obama : 6/20/2009
has fired a few Bush appointees who continued to push the Bush agenda, as is his right as president. So what? We voted him in to do his thing, not Bush! If we wanted more Bush, we would have elected McCain. The election's over, Joe. Give Obama a chance!

N. Korea : 6/21/2009
Is a product of the Bush Administrations, I'll hand it to you. BUT......the reason it is such a disaster is the that they followed the plan there that the Democrats proposed and insisted that should have neen our Iraq policy as well. The development that have accomplished in mnost likelyhood extends back to the Clinton/Carter deal. We all know that the fuel and food went to military build up, and their promises to 'be good' were just to buy time. An oath from a Communist Dictator is no oath at all. Do any of you Obamatica really think that a strongly worded UN resolution will stop them now? If only Pres Obama were as tough on commie or islamic dictators as he is on flies.......

Joe Furjanic

you're real tough.... : 6/21/2009
Talking all your crap behind the screen on the anonymous post, aren't you. You don't know one tenth of what you think you do, but then again, all you do is defend every democrat down the line. Whay about Jonh Conyers' wife and her corruption charges? What about the investigation into William, Jefferson, D, Louisiana? When is CHarlie Rangle's tax issues going to make him resign? Obama saving the auto industry....what a freaking joke! He says he doesn't want to run GM, but the government is calling all the shots, right down to appointing a ceo admits that he knows NOTHING about cars. ONLY in Washington does that make any sense. If you really want your personal savior, Barack The Carmaker Hussein I apologize for AMerica Obama to save GM, you ought to convince him to give the share that the government owns to the taxpayers. I believe that each taxpayer is on the hook for about $ 3,000 for GM, so why not let the taxpayers have the stock to hold, trade, sell or whatever. After all, his highness doesn't want to run the company, let the taxpayers who funded it own it. Oh wait, I know why, that would be anti fascist, pro free market, which his Obamaness cannot stand and doesn't believe in. Oh by the way, I don't know how the klan celebrated, ask Sen Robert Byrd, he was a member.......Oh wait, he's a Dem, so that would have to be false that he was a sheet wearer.

Joe Furjanic

1979 : 6/22/2009
The government LOANED CHrysler the money. Lee Iacocca straightened the company out and paid the loan off EARLY. That is what happens when you place a car guy in charge of a car company, NOT some politically appointed hack appointed by a political hack that never even ran a lemonade stand. Maybe you had better let your wrist rest and do some research yourself ! Oh, and by the way, in Pennsylvania, non-union jobs are protected only by the skill of the person in the position. and the worth they provide the company. WHy do you have such hatred for 83% of the private workforce that is non-union? Makes me think you were caught sluffing off at a previous job and got your sorry ass canned. Get over your hatred, you'll live a longer happier life.

Joe Furjanic

wow joe hater... : 6/22/2009
you are really on a hateful rampage here. you would not know the truth if it kicked you in the ass. bush ended talks with north korea...and branded it as part of the neo-con axis of evil. the result was full speed ahead with their nuclear program. bush then refused to meet them one on one...adding china and russia to the talks. china and russia will always come to the aid of the regime in pyongyang. the agreement signed was not worth the paper it was written on. bush gave kim jong il everything he wanted and got nothing in return. bush took north korea off the terrorist nation list and...again...got nothing. you cannot seriously blame the democrats for the incompetent bush foreign policy. the simple truth is that when clinton left office...the north koreans had no nuclear weapons or ballistic missle capabilities. when bush left office...kim jong il had both. stop trying to turn bush blunders into mistakes made by the democrats. what's next hater? the dems put a gun to bush's head and demanded he invade iraq? the dems tied bush up and stuck him in a white house closet during katrina? they slipped a sleeping pill into his iced tea causing him to sleep through the wall street greed scandals? your postings have become all the more laughable for their total lack of credibility...and misinformation.

what a moron!

Gee Hater... : 6/22/2009
You got plenty of time on your hands these days...and nothing to do but foam at the mouth here. Did the Chrysler headlines escape your notice? The company is out of bankruptcy and preparing to reopen seven plants for production...four of those plants in the United States. This news is certain to cause you grief because you hate organized labor and union workers. If you had it your way, everyone would be in sweat shops...making pennies on the dollar per hour...with no benefits or work place safety standards. This is why you hate illegals so much. They are being exploited by big business instead of the American worker. Better that our own citizens work long hours at miniumum wage to further enrich the corporate oligarchs. Union membership is this country has been under attack by the right for years...as companies and factories close shop...only to reorganize and reopen as non-union. These tactics are not lost on the organized labor movement. The new Obama administration is pro-union. The Democratic majority in Congress is pro-union. The era when the oil companies, corporate and banking interests pulled the strings of their puppet Bush is over. No more no bid contracts to enrich Haliburton and Dick Cheney's bank account. If, as you say, "in Pennsylvania, non-union jobs are protected by the skill of the person in the position, and the worth they provide the company", why are you still getting a paycheck? Is playing on the computer at work part of your job description? As for longevity of life, take good care of yourself...so you are around for the next rounds of ass kicking the right will take in 2010 and 2012. Don't let your fiery hatred for the struggling working class consume you. Also...your obsessive loathing of Obama, his wife and children reached the delusional level a while back with your sick perverted comment about a sex act involving someone's hand and a pic of Obama and his wife. Does your non-union kiss-ass job include coverage for psychiatric services?

American labor built this country...not corporate greed!

making sense from stupidity... : 6/22/2009
you are becoming more and more incoherent...hater. reading your posts is actually painful. not only do you consistently not make any sense...but your mangled use of the english language should make any person, with a minimum 4th grade education or more, cringe. you remain the perfect example of a right wing ignoramus...who much prefers lies and rumors to facts. your tactics are so predictable...they never change. attack, smear, then change the subject! no mystery here about your strategy. your latest anti-obama rant surprises no one. the last eight years were an amnesiac's blur to you. the bush administration did substantial harm to this country...and all it earns is yout tacit approval and silence. you call yourself a "centrist"? take some time off from your bush apologist tour to research the facts. bush-cheney broke our military. they empowered the current iranian and north korean regimes. for cheney or bush now to claim they made us safer is a joke. they ignored the warnings of the 9/11 attack...which took place on their watch. they dragged us into a long war and occupation of a country (iraq) which never attacked us. they nearly lost the war on the real enemy in afghanistan...and facilitated osama bin laden's escape to sanctuary in pakistan. irreparable harm has been done to our relations with the rest of the world... it will take years to repair previous strong bonds with even our allies. the go-it-alone, my-way-or-the-highway, with-us-or-against-us incompetent bush foreign policy was a complete and utter failure. deal with it...hater! embrace the ugly bush legacy...don't run or hide from it. even worse...like most right wing revisionists...don't pretend like it never existed!

Wasn't it in the Soviet Union that those that disagree with the ruling party were deemed in need of psychiatric 'care' ? You fit right in with the Obama way of thinking. Oh by the way, you &%$# liar, I NEVER said anything about Obama's children. Then again, you won't let a little something like the truth get in the way of trying to take out someone you perceive as dangerous, would you?

Which right wing demagogue did you plagiarize that hateful rant from? You are a mindless tool of the health care industry oligarchs. Maybe it came from an insurance company or pharmaceutical conglomerate. At any rate, it borders on creative propaganda...which takes intelligence...so it obviously cannot be your own words. We are so used to posts...usually copied word for word by you...from the right wing media. This one is not clever or cute. It is deceptive and full of lies. Face it...hater...you are going to get health care reform whether you like it or not. The vast majority of Americans do not share your opinions. They want to reform the sytem and make it affordable for everyone. That's a bitter pill for you to swallow...as right wingers tend to look out only for their own selfish interests.

GOOD NEWS...hater...you get to keep your own shrink under Obama;s plan!

The Republicans are SOCIAL VALUES HYPOCRITES! : 6/24/2009
The social values hypocrite party...aka the GOP is back at it again. Do as I say not as I do... First Republican Senator John Ensign admitted cheating on his wife...having an affair with a staffer whose husband tried to blackmail him His plans to run for president in 2012 have been derailed.. Now, Governor Mark Sanford, a hotshot possible party nominee in 2012, went AWOL then admitted traveling to Argentina to visit his mistress there. Kiss his chances to run against Obama goodbye...Both continue to hold their positions. Republicans don't resign when involved in scandal. They only believe in holding the feet of Democrats to the political fire... Remember the Clinton impeachment over Monica? Newt Gingrich now admits that, during those proceedings, he was cheating on his first wife with a staffer who later became his second wife. With the skeletons in his closet, you can cross his name off the potential GOP nominee list too. Rudy Guiliani? Can you say DITTO? Even John McCain cheated on wife #1 with wife #2... Do you see a pattern here? When is the right wing of an imploding GOP going to stop preaching to the American people...and actually live up to the social values they pretend to believe in? Guess when it comes to the DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE,guess it depends on WHOSE marriage they are talking about...Practice what you preach GOP...or stay out of the bedrooms of your fellow Americans!

Just the unvarnished TRUTH...

Smoke and mirrors : 6/24/2009
Nice move by Doc Barack Hussein Obama. Talking healthcare tonight with the willing accomplices at the ABC Obama network, meanwhile, back behind the dark screens of the DemocRAT controlled congress, the American people are about to ram through the cap and trade carbon tax bill. This will increase the cost of your coal generated electricity, gasoline, reduce the number of manufacturing jobs, since manufacturing generates CO2 (a plant food, NOT a pollutant as the greenie weenies would have you government school educated fools believe). Yes, MORE manufacturing jobs will be heading to India, Mexico and China. So, all you manufacturing workers out there, how's that Obama thing working for you now ??

Some trivia for you : 6/24/2009
Bush hating 'budget hawks' You'll really love this. Since you all love to rant, rave, and spew bile about G.W.Bush's spending, How do you like this: Under President Obama, the 2009 budget deficit is set to reach a staggering $1.8 trillion. It took President George W. Bush seven years to run up $1.8 trillion in debt. Oh wait, I know your lame assed excuse "The previous administration left us in a worse condition than we were told by the lying bastards, so we have to spend more to get the required stimulus to right the wrongs and to make the game fair for everyone."

Joe Furjanic

Nothing like... : 6/24/2009
getting the taxpayers of South Carolina to pay for the airplane fares to Argentina...so Mark Sanford can meet up with his mistress and cheat on his wife there... So much for the Governor of "fiscal responsibility"... He fought taking stimulus money for his state...but didn't mind spending state monies for his Buenos Aires tryst. Even worse...he disappeared for five days...with no contact with his office, his staff, state authorities...even the lieutenant governor. And this irresponsible creep wants to sit in the Oval Office one day? His political career is toast...like so many GOP leaders who have fallen off the social values wagon. The Republican party cannot continue to masquerade as morally superior...when the record shows very differently! Holding the American people to standards that they themselves do not follow is pure hypocrisy!

Joe, : 6/24/2009

silky

Fact is... : 6/25/2009
The smoke and mirrors were used by Bush long before Obama sat in the Oval Office. You right wing loonies just don't care to remember what exactly went on in the last eight years. The federal budget NOW reflects the costs of fighting TWO major wars. Bush liked to hide those figures from tjhe American people. Of those wars, one (Iraq) was completely unnecessary. Every nickel and dime spent could have been put to better use in this country. The monies allocated in the stimulus legislation go to help the people...not for phony neo-con wars. Bush and his cronies left this country in a real mess. As much as the far right extremists would like to rewrite those awful years under the most arrogant, most corrurpt, and most incompetent administration in modern history, the American people simply don't buy it. The 2008 election was a referendum on the Bush legacy and the voters decided they had had enough. The weak sharply divided GOP learned nothing from that ass kicking last November. They are still advocating the failed Bush policies which got us into all the current trouble. In foreign policy, Bush created the national security threats of North Korea and Iran. He and his team of shape-a-new-world adventurists took their eye off the goal of defeating Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and capturing Osama Bin Laden...the killer of 3,000 innocent Americans on 9/11. Dick "Five Deferments" Cheney and his puppet, the Idiot Bush, made our values a mockery to the world with the illegal use of torture and the abuses at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. The info and pics are deemed too graphic and sensitive...that their public release would constitute a grave threat to our troops abroad. So pick your 2012 GOP presidential candidate among the many losers who want the job...and see what happens! John Ensign? Mark Sanford? Newt Gingrich? Rudy Guiliani? John McCain...again? All members of the Republican Adulterers Club... You know...the crowd that extolls family values...only to cheat on their own wives and hurt their own families. The difference is that the Dems do not sit on a pedestal of supposed moral superiority. This hypocrisy allows Republican office holders like Ensign, Sanford, and David "Spank Me Madam" Vitter (R-Senator/Louisiana) to remain in their elected jobs. Larry Craig (R-Seantor/Idaho) finished out his term after pleading guilty to soliciting gay sex in a Minneapolis airport restroom. Only Mark Foley (R-House member/Florida) resigned...but only after intense GOP leadership pressure. They knew the tsunami...better known as the 2006 midterm elections...was coming. The radical right has seized control of what is left of the Grand Obsolete Perverts (GOP for short). They will finish destroying the party to the point where its position is one of permanent minority status.

The GOP's future is looking pretty grim...

joe f... : 6/25/2009
hopefully, when obama's health care reform plan passes Congress and is signed into law, it will allow you to seek help for your profound mental health issues. sexual deviancy is treatable. perhaps your suggestion, made in this forum, that someone perform a sex act while holding a pic of Obama and his wife was actually a cry for help on your part... taken together with your other vile rascist postings, it is a clear indication that the problems lie deep inside your head. your obsessive hatred for obama, his wife, and children has crossed all bounds of civility and decency. your inflammatory rhetoric is worthy of an klan rally or neo-nazi/skinhead gathering. so it is especially troublesome to think that you own any firearms. homeland security has warned that radical right views and weapons can be a deadly mix.

seeking professional help is no crime!

The democRAT leadership in the house wants to vote on the economy wrecking Waxman - Marky Cap and Trade bill today. Thismove to tax what's left of the manufacturing and energy in this country is OVER 1,000 pages, and the details are still being worked on as of last night. Now, the sharpest minds in this country cannot read this, comprehend it, and make an intelligent decision on this in one day, so how in the world can the House do it? Maybe the democRATS will hire a speed reader again, mocking the American people like they did the last tiome that someone pressed for reading the whole bill before voting on it. Bend over, America, and hope Pbama care comes with free personal lubricant !

Silky : 6/26/2009
Yes, he is my president. The problem is that he is driving this country straight down the road to some mixture of Fascism, Socialism, and Croney Capitalism that is against the principles upon which it was founded. Congress is ramming through a cap and trade tax to stop Global Warming, which is not scientific fact. As a matter of fact, NASA released a new report last month that most of the warming in the last 50 years was due to, of all things, SOLAR ACTIVITY ! In the last 10 years temps have been actually cooling, which ties in with the current lack of sloar activity as evidenced by a lack of sunspots as cycle 24 was due to start. Yet, Al Gore, who stands to make Billions off of carbon credits is in front of the House today whining about how we need cap and trade. Congress will grill CEOs about private jets, but will sit there like obedient lapdogs as Gore whines. This president cannot be trusted unless at least one of the houses of congress can slow things down so there is time for reasoned debate. After all, the president is Barack Hussein Obama, and NOT Speedy Gonzales, (the fastest mouse in all Mexico) !

Joe Furjanic

The Republicans are SOCIAL VALUES HYPOCRITES! : 6/26/2009
I'll give you that some are, and it makes them all look bad. My only question is that if we replace social values with tax beliefs, since the dems are big on taxing everyone, and we have Tim Geithner, Charlie Rangle, Tom Daschle, William Jefferson, et al wanting to tax us but don't pay 'their fair share,' where's the same outrage? Where's the balance on pointing out the flaws? OR, when it was Clinton, "It's his personal life."

Joe Furjanic

Do as I say...NOT as I do... : 6/26/2009
Gingrich, McCain, Sanford, and Ensign all voted to impeach Clinton for the Monica affair. They demanded that the president resign. And yet...they believe they should retain their respective offices. Sanford even spent South Carolina state monies to pay for things like his airfare to Argentina...and who knows what else. His hotel room? Champagne to entertain his mistress? All on the taxpayers' dime! Now that he has been caught, he wants to reimburse the state for funds he illegally used. This is the same creep who refused to take stimulus cash for South Carolina...even fighting his own Republican controlled state legislature. This is the same governor who disappeared for 5 days...telling no one...not even his wife and family...or...more importantly... the lieutenant governor. The point here is clear. A party leadership, which constantly and consistently preaches a higher moral superiority, does not believe in those core social values themselves. The American voters know hypocrisy when they smell it. The GOP is rotten from the inside. There was no talk that Clinton's person life was his business back then...because the GOP thought they saw an opportunity to oust him from office. You want to change the subject here. That's understandable. There are good and bad apples in both parties...lots of sinners and very few saints. The big difference is that the Dems do not seek to impose their views on morality on the rest of the country. Better yet, they would not seek to codify into law any particular set of moral standards. Talk about a waste of federal money...what did those politically motivated impeachment hearings and trial end up costing the taxpayers? Any person, who is truly concerned with government spending, should be outraged...

GOP: Practice what you preach...or just shut up!

there you go again...hater! : 6/26/2009

Obama's changing viewpoint... : 6/26/2009
President Obama needs to do exactly what he said he would do during the presidential campaign. He promised health care reform to make it affordable for all Americans. He also said he would pay for it by repealing the Bush tax cuts. No move has been made so far to address that issue. In fact, the Bush tax cuts are not even a subject for conversation anymore by the administration. One thing is for certain. If Obama signs legislation that taxes employee health benefits, he will be in very big trouble with his base. This was a big difference between himself and John McCain last year. McCain advocated such a tax...while Obama said he would never impose such an additional tax burden on the middle class. Republicans in Congress along with a few Democrats are seriously talking about taxing such benefits as income. This would amount to a betrayal of those who supported Obama and the Dems. Returning the tax rates for the wealthiest 1% of Americans to what they were under Bill Clinton would make up for the proposed one trillion dollar price tag for health care. An argument can be made that Obama is not the leftist that the right wing portrays him as. In fact, in many areas, the Obama foreign policy IS the Bush foreign policy minus the fiery rhetoric and antagonistic tone. He kept Bush's Defense Secretary, Bill Gates, and has all but adopted the Bush plan for a slow and steady draw down of forces in Iraq. On Gates' advice, he has upped the ante in Afghanistan...preferring now to defeat the Taliban rather than negotiate with its so called more moderate elements. Obama continues the air strikes by unmanned drones in Pakistan...knocking out Al Qaeda and Taliban targets and key leadership. On Gates' advice...and that of the top military brass...Obama has postponed any action to lift Clinton's Don't Ask... Don't Tell policy on gays. He has sought to add several Republicans to his cabinet...including Gates, the Secretary of Transportation, and the new Secretary of the Army. Obama overruled his Justice Department in refusing to allow the publication of additional graphic photos and detailed interrogation info regarding detainees in Bush's war on terror. All these things point to the fact that Obama plans to do what he considers right for the country...and not necessarily what he promised when running for president.

“As a matter of fact, NASA released a new report last month that most of the warming in the last 50 years was due to, of all things, SOLAR ACTIVITY!” Actually, Joe, you are wrong on this. No one has denied that the Sun is the major player in the Earth’s climate (duh), but the report you are talking about was actually released over a year ago, in May 2008. It was intended to study the relationship between solar activity and the climate at the Arctic region, which it did. It did not study man-made global warming, but did affirm man-made, world wide global warming as the larger picture. Picking up on a headline from a third party news organization, Fox News “analyst” Andrew Napolitano mischaracterized the report to suggest that it disproved man-made global warming. It did not. Joe, this is just another case of Fox news telling you what you want to hear.

More Fox News disinformation... : 7/1/2009
When the recent Mark Sanford scandal broke, Fox News covered the story labeling Sanford as a DEMOCRAT. Is it because they play so loose with the truth at Fox...that it really does not matter? Or was it a sleazy attempt to misguide their viewers? Sanford is the REPUBLICAN governor of South Carolina. Fox News just wishes he were from the other side. It was days before they finally acknowledged their "mistake"... Funny...all the other cable news stations got it right the first time. This bogus, irreputable, sad case for a supposed news organization is nothing more than a 24/7 mouthpiece for the right wing. It is not surprising to learn that Joe F. is misinformed AGAIN... When not playing the sissified cry baby victim here, he deliberately cherry picks his info for its anti-Obama, anti-Dem content to dump on this forum. Not having clear intelligent informed thoughts of his own is a very serious handicap for him.

Fox News = Right Wing Propaganda Machine

Even funnier : 7/2/2009
When it's a democrat accused of wrong doing, the mainstream media doesn't mention the party of the sleaze bag, but when it's a Republican, it's right out there.

Joe Furjanic

Perhaps... : 7/2/2009
The GOP should stop banging their bibles... after they stop banging argentinians, masseuses, and guys in restrooms... When you do something that is blatantly hypocritical to what your party espouses, then your political affiliation is PART of the story. For example, if Nancy Pelosi were photographed pouring motor oil into a river, the fact that she is a democrat is quite relevant... seeing as how that is the part of environmentalism... If a politician is caught cheating on his wife with a guy in a bathroom... the fact that he is a member of the party of jesus and family values (and against gay marriage) is quite relevant. So, GOP... either stop with the sexual shenanigans, or drop the holier than thou part of the platform and maybe you can pick up a couple of school board seats in the next election.

Problem with you...Hater...is that you are so far to the right...you see only wrongs on the opposite side. That makes you an extremist...not a centrist. Not a peep of criticism from you regarding Sanford's disappearance from South Carolina for 5 days... Not a single word of outrage that he used state monies to fund his trysts in Argentina and elsewhere. You would be screaming if this irresponsible creep were a Dem and most likely spending even more of your work day typing multiple posts of indignation.... This is what makes you the hypocrite that you are. Like your lack of social values...anti-family values party (GOP), it is all well and good to preach moral standards to the American people...just so the holier than thou crowd can do as they please. Your sick perverted comments here prove that point as well. Sex acts involving someone's hand and a pic of Obama and his wife? Bending over to use a personal lubricant? These are YOUR words posted here...Hater! Bet you consider yourself an upstanding moral family man...but here you post the most obscene pornographic comments concerning President Obama and his wife. You are ever so good at pointing the finger...and cherry picking your right wing propaganda for its anti-Obama, anti-Dems content. It is truly amazing how often you have been proven wrong. Maybe you should spend a little less time in your adult chatrooms and porn sites...and a little more time researching the ridiculous garbage you dump here on a regular basis. You have no credibility in this forum...never did! Is your GOP buddy Sanford a "sleaze bag"? For sure...along with Newt Gingrich, John Ensign, David Vitter, Larry Craig and the rest of the DO AS I SAY...NOT AS I DO crowd... The Dems are not saints...but at least they are smart enough to stay out of our bedrooms and personal lives.

Prepare for a good ole ass kicking in 2010 & 2012...

Ellipses : 7/2/2009
You dodge a point here and are as guilty as you accuse others of. The democRATS are for higher taxes, yet they are the party of tax cheats: Timmy Geithner, Charlie Rangle, Tom Daschle, William Jefferson, et al. Plus let us not forget Teddy Kennedy with Mary Jo Kopecney, William Clinton with Monica Lewinski , Mel Reynolds with under age girls. Let's be fair and balanced!

Joe Furjanic

the simple truth... : 7/2/2009
when the mark sanford scandal broke, fox news spent the entire first day of their reporting...in identifying sanford as a democrat. now...either FN is totally incompetent and unreliable when it comes to news coverage that includes real facts...OR they deliberately tried to mislead their viewers into thinking that this southern lothario was just another loose living democrat. FN had absolutely no trouble labeling elliot spitzer as a democrat when he resigned as governor of NY. no other news organizations...of whatever political persuasion... got the sanford party affiliation wrong. the right wing is running hard AWAY from their corrupted leadership. they may have to just swallow hard and nominate the mormon (mitt romney) in 2012...OR run their disgraced candidates on a no values platform of adultery, prostitution, and gay sex solicitation...

Just add your name... : 7/2/2009
to the list of right wing sleaze bags...Hater! Your disgusting sexual comments about Obama and his wife have no place in this forum. You must think your crudeness is clever or entertaining. You are the King of the Dodgers when it comes to the truth. Your game plan is always the same...outrageous lies...never substantiated by credible facts...then a quick change of subject when confronted. If those don't work, you resort to playing the cry baby victim of so called "personal attacks". Are you that stupid that you don't realize that your own venemous words provoke the indignant responses of others? Deep down, you must lead a very unhappy...unfulfilled life...desperately craving attention in any form...even the negative kind. Not a critical word from you about the bad boys of the GOP... Yeah... Joe Hater...you are fair and balanced...just like Fox News!

Run...Don't Walk to your nearest SHRINK...

Joe... : 7/2/2009
The issue of tax rates is objective... it's dollars and cents and anyone who doesn't pay what they owe, should be made to do so. Morals and values and all those intangibles are subjective. If person A advocates higher taxes, but then didn't pay their taxes correctly, they can be punished either through fines or jail or whatever to make society whole. If a senator backs a defense of marriage amendment or props up their career on some personal relationship with God and then goes on to destroy their family with some torrid affair, whether it is with a man or a woman... how does that person make society whole? How does that person fix the harms perpetrated on the gay community by our legal indifference to their existence? Sanford, in endorsing the defense of marriage amendment, was essentially saying that only straight people are worthy of marriage... And then leaves his wife and his state and his country for a week to screw a chick in Argentina. If he hadn't taken the holier than thou position in the first place, it would still be news... but it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining theater.

Joe : 7/2/2009
Today you refrained from using sick perverted comments and hate remarks. I stand by your right to voice your opinion so keep it clean from now on because I am tired of reading your list of faults.

Daily reader

I agree : 7/2/2009
Sanford is a sleeze. He broke the vow he made to his wife and God. Oh zero, the picture remark was directed toward YOU with your sick total love for everything Obama. You're the only one here obsessed with that remark. I'm a decent but flawed family man. I try hard, but I have a little problem with my temper. You see, anonymous jerkoffs that insult me get under my skin because they snipe from a cloak of secrecy, but will not sign their name to what they say. Agree or disagree, love or hate me, at least I have the belief in what I am willing to write to put my name to it. Oh, by the way, my black friends get a kick out of your clan accusations.

Joe Furjanic

By the way....... : 7/2/2009
Speaking of the tax cheats that are running Washington, I haven't heard anymore talk about those middle class tax cuts for the 90% of Americans, just talk of more and more taxes on food, drink, energy, healthcare plans, and just about everything else. Soooooooo, how's that Obama thing working out for your wallet?

Joe Furjanic

Ellipses, : 7/3/2009
careful with that word 'screw,' you'll be called a pron addicted pervert.. That said, preaching family values then cheating or calling for tax hikes while not paying them both speak to the flaws of those in office today. No longer do we have the citizen legislator serving his fellow man as the Founding Fathers envisioned. How can a lawmaker that breaks the very laws they want to impose upon us, especially claiming our productivity have any moral authority or credibility? Have a great weekend!

Joe Furjanic

like the weasel... : 7/3/2009
that you are...you again dodge the issue by changing the subject. it isn't enough to admit that sanford is a "sleeze" (your bad spelling...not mine) for cheating on his wife. you failed to address sanford's blatant hypocrisy in going after bill clinton for the monica affair when sanford was a south carolina congressman. at the time, sanford demanded that clinton resign from office...then voted to impeach him. this is a standard that he refuses to apply to himself. even worse, is sanford's obvious dereliction of duty as governor. he disappeared from his state for 5 days after lying to his staff about hiking the appalachian trail. he remained incommunicado...turning off his cell phone. the south carolina state constitution is vague about succession. had there been a crisis...a prison riot...a hurricane or some natural or unnatural disaster in the state...sanford would have been missing in action...without a designated replacement. this should be cause for his own impeachment. say what you want about bill clinton...but he always took his responsibilities seriously. john ensign, david vitter, john mccain, newt gingrich, larry craig and mark foley all voted to impeach clinton. by his own admission, gingrich was carrying on an affair with his mistress DURING the impeachment proceedings. your unfair and imbalanced assessment simply does not cut it in this forum. how can the party of no morals and anti-family values preach standards that they themselves do not practice or believe in? as has been stated in the past, your postings are those of an unstable mind. the fact that you own firearms is even more scary. we have seen what weapons in the hands of right wing extremists can do. your crazed obsession with learning the identities of people who post here is only exceeded by your vengeful hatred for obama, his wife and family. you have black friends? do you also have gay friends? union friends? friends who are democrats? illegal alien friends? you've got to be kidding! next you will be saying you are a member in good standing with the local naacp... you despise people of color... do your "black friends" ever read your rascist ramblings here? talking about african-americans here...not white folks with dark tans... it does not matter to whom you directed your sick perverted comment regarding a sex act using a pic of obama and his wife. the fact that you posted here along with your comment about bending over and using a personal lubricant is vile and disgusting. your mental health issues continue to dominate what you say here. get some psychiatric help soon.

no credibility...hater!

you do the math... : 7/3/2009
joe hater + extremist views + temper + weapons = homeland security threat?

Pr0n? : 7/3/2009
Joe! I didn't know you were a technophile!

ellipses

Gee zero : 7/3/2009
I really hate wasting my time on your pathetic posts, but you just keep adding to your lies about me to the point where it's sad. Where have I posted racist remarks? What have I said that says I despise people of color? Since you have no facts to refute my major points, it's simply slander and attack, lie and attack. As far as wanting a name to your posts, my dad always said if you speak ill of someone in a public forum, have the stones and conviction to identify yourself, and be ready to take the arrows. As far as mental health, I'm fine, happy and well adjusted. Maybe your love of all things communist and the old Soviet Union has you obsessed with locking up those that oppose government tyranny in mental institutions. I'd love to see the look on your face if you omly knew what other certifications I hold... And finally, you and your little math wiz parrot above never define extremist views. Wanting secure borders, low taxes, minimal constitutionally authorized government, no United Nations involvement, Free speech and assembly rights, gun rights, and no groups like ACORN engaging in voter fraud is an extremist view? No, sorry, those are classic American values. Extreme to Fascists, socialists, and COmmunists, yes, to true Americans, NO ! So, there are MY extremist views, what are yours other than shutting me up? The ball is in your court. Play or sit down!

Joe Furjanic

Right Wing Zealots... : 7/3/2009
like Joe Hater are fond of attacking Bill Clinton over his brief dalliance with a White House intern. However, last time anyone checked...Bill was STILL married to Hillary. That cannot be said for John McCain, Newt Gingrich, and Rudy Guiliani who cheated on their first wives...then married their mistresses. Apparently the institution of marriage and the vows that go along with it mean a hell of a lot more to President Clinton than to the Republican Adulterers Trio (RAT...for short).

Truth be told!

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST! : 7/3/2009
Bye Bye Sarah Palin... We hardly knew ye... 2 and 1/2 years experience as governor of Alaska will NOT make you a presidential contender in 2012. To think that this inexperienced, erratic political neophyte was chosen to be one heartbeat away from possibly becoming the 45th president of the United States is downright scary. Only goes to reinforce the fact that the American voters chose well on November 4, 2008, by electing Barack Obama and Joe Biden... Palin has certainly written her own political obituary by quitting the job she was elected to do for the people of Alaska. Whatever happened to finishing your term of office? The right wing is surely crying big tears over this one.

Slim Pickens for the GOP in 2012...

Oh hey zero : 7/4/2009
Have you ever heard of a position called Lieutenant Governor? The second in command, responsible to act in the absence or incapacitation of the Governor. aka a designated replacement. You're so stupid, no wonder you need a nanny state government to look after your sorry posterior! Funny though, you still defend Clinton. Loser!

Joe Furjanic

The GOP MELTDOWN continues... : 7/4/2009
In a rambling and incoherent statement yesterday, the rising conservative star of the Republican party, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, firmly ditched her chances of ever being the party's 2012 presidential nominee...let alone the president of the United States. After revealing that she would not seek re-election to a second term as Alaska's chief executive, Palin bizarrely announced that she was also resigning as governor...after barely 2 and 1/2 years in office. Her flimsy...unbelievable excuse? She would be a lame duck and therefore ineffective for the remainder of her term. If this is a calculated risk to begin an early quest for the presidency, it was a stupid and clearly sef-interested move. Taken together with the other GOP scandal-a-week stories, this shocker only further hastens the party's continued meltdown. Potential Republican contenders for the 2012 nomination are literally dropping like flies. Sarah may be the darling of the right wing but it will be hard to convince American voters that her experience as small town mayor...and now her even briefer stint as governor...in any way qualifies Palin to be the 45th president of the United States. It is doubtful...but we can only hope...that we have seen and heard the last from this much overrated asterisk in American history!

What was McCain thinking?

I agree on one thing. : 7/6/2009
Gov Palin really messed up with this one. Her strongest qualification was being the Governor of Alaska. What a dumb assed move

Joe Furjanic

Rewriting the South Carolina Constitution...Hater? : 7/6/2009
Where does it say that in the "absence" of the governor...the lieutenant governor will replace him/her? Absence? That's a pretty vague term... So if Sanford suddenly disappears for 5 days...after deliberately lying to his staff...is that considered an "absence"? So when Sanford shut off his cell phone, so he could have some private time with his mistress, and could not be reached by anyone...not even his wife...was that an "absence"? If inexplicable "absence" were indeed one of the reasons for succession, Andre Bauer, the present lieutenenat governor, should have become governor of South Carolina. Fabricating excuses for Sanford's stupidity does not make them real...Hater. Give us the exact quote from the document so we may believe...ha ha ha ha ha Otherwise...this is just more phony baloney from Mr. Got It Wrong Again...ha ha ha ha ha ha Furjanic's disease = the inability to ever get one's facts (?) straight... Stop swallowing whole every word that comes from the right wing demagogues...then regurgitating it here.

Palin-Sanford in 2012? Obama Re-election Landslide...here we come!

bye bye...miss american lie : 7/6/2009
if the american voters had been fooled by the republican attempt to repackage the failed bush policies as "reform"...led by a presidential ticket of "mavericks"...the goofy unqualified governor of alaska would now be a heartbeat from the presidency. sarah palin was unqualified in 2008...and now quitting her job after 2 and 1/2 years for no real explicable reason...makes her less qualified today or in 2012. let her write her book for big money. invite her to speak at conservative gatherings for even bigger money. just keep her away from the political arena...where candidates with a true desire to serve...are needed and should take precedence over the self-involved...

joe f. : 7/6/2009
so mark sanford's buenos aires booty call can be justified? got to give clinton some credit here...at least he played at his workplace where he could be reached if necessary. sanford wants to reconcile with his wife after referring to his argentine mistress as his "soulmate"? guess you approve that one too. is there no level of the ridiculous to which you will not stoop to forgive mark sanford's outright dereliction of duty as governor of south carolina? aside from his adulterous bad boy ways, sanford was reckless and irresponsible when it comes to the trust that the voters placed in him. a lesser man with a shred of dignity (like democratic new york governor elliot spitzer) would have resigned. this lying creep continues to cling to power. nice of you to make lame excuses for his questionable conduct.

impeach sanford now!

Hey zero, : 7/7/2009
I didn't justify anything, just stated a fact. You and all you nanny state fans that cannot think or take care of yourself seem to be crying and worrying about some problem in South Carolina while he was gone. This is the United States, one governor or other political hack MIA doesn't mean the end of the world ! You are a master at putting words in other's mouths, and all it does is make you look like the southern end of a northbound donkey that you are. If Obama disappeared for 5 days, well, there might be a slight problem with Bozo Biden at the helm, but this great country is bigger than any elected official in the government. Try thinking about issues that matter and worry less about me. By the way, I'm still waiting to hear what is so far to the right about my views........but then again. I guess your leftist leaders cannot answer individual questions, just spew anti American ideas.

Joe Furjanic

Get Real...Joe Hater! : 7/7/2009
You are a big time loser...Joe Hater! You dump your smelly right wing garbage here each day and pretend like it is breathing fresh air. You deal in half truths...and never supply credible facts to back up your idiocy. If Sanford was a Democrat...you would be filling this forum with vicious attacks on him. Since he is a Republican, his actions are a non-issue with you...as are Sarah Palin's... Your views are transparent only in so far as we can see right through you...Your obsessive...verging on sick hatred for Obama will not allow you to look at things in a fair and balanced way. You much prefer the Fox News approach to that. So crawl back into your hole...whimper some more...and play the victim. By the way, chances of Obama pulling a "Sanford" disappearing act...or a "Palin" quitting before the job is done stunt are nil.

That sound you hear is the GOP collapsing in the dust...

guess what is really anti-american...hater? : 7/7/2009
it is your love of military coups which cancel out the vote of a free people. it is anti-american to suggest that a group of generals would replace an elected leader with someone of their own choosing. your concept of democracy bears absolutely no resemblance to the real thing. we should all be grateful that right wing fascists like yourself will never see power in this country. your extremist ilk remains a very tiny minority. please do compare the resumes of joe biden and sarah palin when get get the chance. you will quickly discover that biden completes everything he starts. being mayor of a small alaskan town (population-9,000) and governor of the state for barely half her elected term would not impress very many voters in 2012. should we also include her beauty pageant experience?

Wrong again...Joe F. : 7/7/2009
We are still waiting for you to produce the paragraph in the South Carolina constitution that allows for the lieutenant governor to succeed in the "absence" of the governor. Can save you some trouble...Hater...it does not exist. You make up plenty of stuff and try to make it sound real here. Just like a lot of what you say...this one did not pass the smell test either.

Batting ZERO as usual...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Oh, zero : 7/8/2009
SECTION 7. Succession when neither Governor-elect nor Lieutenant Governor-elect qualifies or is able to serve.

Joe Furjanic

looking for the word ABSENCE...hater : 7/9/2009
you said that the south carolina constitution allows for the succession of the lieutenant governor in the ABSENCE of the governor. do not see that word ABSENCE in your latest posting... show us where it says exactly what you claim... again...one more slide down the slippery slope of credibility for you... enjoy the ride! ha ha ha ha ha ha do YOU even believe what you post here anymore?

liar...liar...joe hater's pants are on fire!

Making no sense...as usual : 7/9/2009
Both Sanford and Bauer were already serving in office as governor and lieutenant governor. Your "quote" refers to officials elected but not yet sworn in to take office. That is what the term "elect" means after the title. You continue your stellar record of being incredibly wrong on everything you say here. No one takes you seriously. Your laughable postings have become a daily embarrassment for you. Give us the sentence or paragraph in the South Carolina constitution that deals with succession in the case of "absence". This is what you claim...so back it up...or just shut up!

ZERO = your record of being right!
