Suspect sought in attempted child abduction

Southwest Regional police are looking for a man who grabbed a 11-year-old boy and tried to pull him into a vehicle in the borough of Newell, Fayette County, just across the Monongahela River from Coal Center, about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect is white, in his 30s with sideburns, short black hair and yellow teeth. He wore a black, long-sleeved shirt, with jeans and tennis shoes. He was driving an older, green van with white stripes that were yellowing with age.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
