CANONSBURG

Bomb squad called: The Allegheny County Bomb Squad was called to Canonsburg Wednesday night when an anti-tank valve was found by people cleaning at 220 W. College St. The valve was removed without incident.

AC unit stolen: Tony Capozzi of Bethel Park told Canonsburg police Wednesday that an air-conditioning unit was stolen from 139 W. Pike St.

CHARTIERS TOWNSHIP

Vandalism reported: Ronald Likar of 739 Woodlawn Drive told Chartiers police Thursday that five wooden rails were removed from his fence and put in his driveway, blocking it.

Rig damages car: Nancy Williams, 54, of New Brennan, Ohio, escaped injury Wednesday when a tractor-trailer driven by Adam B. Colbert, 34, of Beaver Falls, drove over the hood of her car at Country Club Road and North Main Street.

Assault arrest: William Shawn Case, 38, of 825 McClane Farm Road, Chartiers, was arrested early Thursday by Chartiers police for allegedly assaulting Kristina Golden as they drove in a car in the 1900 block of Henderson Avenue.

Golden was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Case was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

NORTH FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP

Retail theft: Chester R. Poskon, 62, of MClellandtown, was charged Tuesday by North Franklin police with retail theft for allegedly stealing clothing valued at more than $100 from Sears, Washington Crown Center.

Car stolen: Melvin Stell of 151 Baltimore Ave. told North Franklin police that his green 1997 Chevrolet Malibu was stolen Wednesday afternoon from his home. It was recovered Wednesday afternoon on Mill Street.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Windows shot: Vandals shot two windows at the former Nabisco plant, 198 Meadowlands Boulevard, early Thursday. The building is now used as storage for The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

PETERS TOWNSHIP

Criminal mischief: A mailbox at one house and a glass lamp on a pillar at another in the 100 block of Bittersweet Circle were damaged before 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, township police said.

Road rage: Township police said five men will be cited for disorderly conduct following an apparent road rage incident before 10:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said driver Robert Holt flagged down an officer in the 400 block of Bebout Road, where he was found with a smashed windshield on his vehicle and scratches and blood on his face. Following an investigation, police said Holt, 18, of Overlook Street, South Park; the driver of another vehicle, Michael Konopka, 26, of East McMurray Road, McMurray; a 17-year-old boy from Venetia driving a third vehicle; and passengers Thomas Walters, 22, of Bebout Road, Venetia, and a 15-year-old boy from Venetia will be cited.

Police said the five in three vehicles were driving in the Venetia area when the damage occurred as items were thrown at the different vehicles and when the vehicles were driven into various objects such as garbage cans.

Store burglary: Money and a cash register were stolen during a burglary at Sports Cards Etc. early Thursday, township police said.

An alarm sounded at 12:40 a.m. at the store at 110 W. McMurray Road. When police arrived, they discovered the front-door lock was damaged and the door was open. Missing was the cash register and $100.

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP

Two injured: Two Donora residents were slightly injured in a one-vehicle accident at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 70, state police in Belle Vernon said.

Christine Davis, 32, apparently lost control of her car on a wet road and spun into the guardrail, police said. Davis suffered a minor injury, as did her passenger, Jim Tadros, 32. Both refused treatment at the scene, police said. Assisting police was Rostraver 1 Volunteer Fire Department.

SMITH TOWNSHIP

Driver charged: Matthew Markish, 19, no address available, was arrested Wednesday by Smith police after his car reportedly hit a mailbox. When police found him, they said, they found suspected marijuana in his pants pocket.

He was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, not having a license and underage drinking. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP

Pizza shop cited: The state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited a South Fayette pizza shop for allegedly selling cigarettes that did not have a required state cigarette tax stamp on the packages. Bee'z Pizza and Pasta, 3249 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, was cited April 30, according to information made public Thursday.

SOMERSET TOWNSHIP

Cash, gun stolen: James Seaman of 1817 Route 136, Somerset, told state police Wednesday that his home was entered twice and cash and a .22-caliber gun were stolen.

UNION TOWNSHIP

Two arrested: Shawn S. Pusateri, 24, and Courtney Tindl, 28, both of 3510 Washington Ave., Finleyville, were arrested Wednesday on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and identity theft for allegedly stealing a vehicle owned by Timothy Killosky of 6618 Library Road, Union, on May 18 and using his credit card to make more than $684 in purchases.

Both were arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo and placed in Washington County Jail.

Harassment charge: Lawrence Vittone of Eighty Four was charged with harassment after allegedly threatening Michael Davis of Finleyville during an incident Wednesday morning near the Gastonville post office, Union, state police said.

WASHINGTON

Rape reported: Washington police detectives are investigating a rape that reportedly occurred at an underage drinking party earlier this week in Washington's West End.

Police Chief James R. Blyth said the incident was reported to police about 11 a.m. Thursday. He said the investigation was just beginning.

All those involved in the party and alleged sexual assault are juveniles, he said.

Woman charged: Washington police charged a woman with harassment after, they said, she became combative in the emergency room at Washington Hospital early Thursday.

Kathleen L. Sheppard, 31, of 235 Orchard St., who was reported to be intoxicated when she was taken to the emergency room, bit two hospital employees, Donna Stout and Don Kelsall, when they tried to help her, police said. The charge will be sent by mail, police said.
