Some willing to pay for a cleaner world
Coincidentally, we received the same day a letter from the task force, thanking the public for its response and cooperation. "On June 20, more than 300 local households safely disposed of 20,000-plus pounds of household chemicals," the letter stated.
Apparently, there are a lot of people, including the writer of the previous letter, who were willing to do the right thing. It is refreshing to know that hundreds of people right here know that a cleaner environment is worth a sacrifice.

300 Households? : 6/29/2009
The problem is that there are 70,000+ households in Washington County, the majority of which dispose of this crap anyway they can. Sort of negates that a whole 300 did it with the state. Proper disposal will never happen without it being easy and cheap or free. It is one of those tasks that government must take the lead and do.
