GREENSBURG - Winning pitcher Joby Lapkowicz and reliever Chuck Gasti combined on a three-hit shutout as Carmichaels High School blanked Homer Center, 7-0, Thursday afternoon in the PIAA Class A baseball quarterfinals at Seton Hill University.

Carmichaels (22-1) will play Serra Catholic in the semifinals Monday at a site and time to be determined. Serra defeated Rochester, 4-2, Thursday.

Gasti has three hits for Carmichaels and Lapkowicz and Bill Musgrove each drove in two runs.

Homer Center (12-7) was the District 6 champion.
