An outdoor ceremony at the couple's Avella home was the site for the wedding of Melissa Stevens and Wray Cornell, who were married at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, with Gary Watt officiating.
The bride's parents are Alice M. Stevens of Follansbee, W.Va., and the late James A. Stevens.
The bridegroom's parents are Charles R. Cornell of Houston and Patricia Cornell of Washington.

Matron of honor for her sister was Tina M. Delong of Follansbee.
Flower girls were Elizabeth D. Matias of Follansbee, great-niece of the bride, and Madison Nichole Smart of Follansbee, granddaughter of the bride.
Simba, the couple's dog, served as best man. Ring bearers were Michael James Smith of Follansbee, great-nephew of the bride, and Dominick Paul Lightner of Hookstown, grandson of the groom.
A reception was held at the wedding site.
The bride is a 1984 graduate of Brooke High School and a 1986 graduate of Wheeling Beauty College. She is employed by Brooke County Board of Education.
Her husband is a 1979 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and served 17 years in the U.S. Army. He is owner/operator of Cornell Trucking.
The newlyweds will take a delayed honeymoon and make their home in Avella.
