Slashing suspect apprehended near Farrell

A suspect in the slashing of a man outside a South Strabane Township motel was apprehended about 11 a.m. Wednesday at a home near Farrell.

South Strabane police Detective John Bruner said Richard Louis Pruden, 23, of Washington, was apprehended by U.S. marshals, the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and South West Mercer County Regional police.

Pruden and Trey Willis, 22, of Washington, were charged with attempted homicide in the June 14 slashing of Gabriel Bonilla in the parking lot of Motel 6. Willis is in Washington County Jail.
