New general manager named at The Meadows

Sean Sullivan, a 28-year veteran of the casino industry, has been named vice president and general manager at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

The announcement, made Monday by The Meadows’ owner, Las Vegas-based Cannery Casino Resorts, said Sullivan most recently served in the same role at CCR’s Eastside Cannery & Hotel in Las Vegas.

Sullivan succeeds Michael Graninger, who resigned in July.

The appointment is subject to licensing by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Sullivan began his gaming career in 1981 as a market analyst for the historic Harold’s Club Casino in Reno, Nev., after receiving a degree in business administration from the University of Pacific in Stockton, Calif.

During his career, Sullivan has held key management positions at several of the industry’s most successful gaming and hospitality companies, including MGM Grand, Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, Binion’s Horseshoe, Riviera, Grand Casinos and Sands Las Vegas. Recently, he was vice president and general manager of the Morongo Casino - Resort & Spa near Palm Springs, Calif., where he guided the highly profitable Southern California property.
