A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Mount Pleasant Township Community Center in Hickory to discuss the Historic Pennsylvania Agriculture Survey. The purpose of the survey is to document the agricultural history and resources of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through photographs and other means. Members of the survey team as well as a representative from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission will be present to answer questions and address concerns. Greene County Conservation District will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 265 Dark Hollow Road, Waynesburg.

Aleppo Brethren Church will hold a community dinner at 5 p.m. Friday. Lasagna, salad and dessert will be served. At 7 p.m. Saturday, the church will host a hymn sing. Refreshments will be served after the event.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Southwestern Pennsylvania, is offering a free 12-week program designed for families of individuals with serious mental illness. The program begins Sept. 10 at 60 West High Street, Waynesburg, and at New Apostolic Church, Crucible. Each program session is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. NAMI Southwestern Pennsylvania is a grassroots organization providing support, education, and advocacy efforts for children, adolescents and adults with a serious mental illness, and for family members, caregivers and the community. The family-to-family education course is an interactive program where families will find a balance of basic education and skills training, along with self-care, emotional support and empowerment. A Mon River access walk will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 26 between County Street and Mon View Park in Greensboro. Those wishing to participate are asked to meet at the Log Cabin on Front Street. There will be a self-supported easy group paddle at the end, so bring your canoe or kayak. Walk The River! is co-hosted by the Nathanael Greene Historical Foundation and the Borough of Greensboro. Dave Vrana of Carmichaels is hosting a Polka Fest with proceeds to benefit All Saints Regional School, Masontown. The Polka Fest will be held in the All Saints Church Social Hall, Church Ave., Masontown, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 9. A buffet dinner featuring holupki, kielbasa and kraut, pierogi, rigatoni, desert and beverages will be served at noon.
