CALIFORNIA

Underage drinking: Seven people were cited Nov. 2 for underage drinking during a party on Union Street in the borough, California police said. Officers cited Candice Gould, 20, of Brownsville; Randolph H. Mosley III, 18, of McClellandtown; Bethany Lynn Newman, 20, of Masontown; Kane J. Sciascia, 20, of Beallsville; Derek J. Tolnai, 19, of Fairbank; and Troy A. Volansky, 18, of Masontown.

Disorderly charge: Nicholas Richard Zarnich II, 23, of Rochester, was charged with disorderly conduct after California police said he got into an argument and used obscene language with borough workers at the municipal building Thursday afternoon.

CANONSBURG

Drug arrest: The Washington County District Attorney's Drug Task Force arrested a Washington woman on drug charges Monday afternoon during a sting in Canonsburg.

County detectives arrested Karen Lee Desai, 45, of 62 Kish Ave., at a fast-food restaurant after she allegedly delivered 250 Percocet tablets and 160 Vicodin pills. Desai was arraigned by District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 cash bond. Peters Township and Canonsburg police assisted.

Attempted theft: Borough police are looking for the person who attempted to steal a disabled car parked between Mace Auto and Shop 'n Save on West Pike Street. The person got into the vehicle Friday, drove it into another car and left the area on foot, police said.

DUI charge: Canonsburg police charged a Jacksonville, Fla., man with drunken driving and several other traffic offenses after he allegedly drove his vehicle into the front yard of a borough residence.

Police said 22-year-old Jeffrey William Donati Jr. drove on the yard of 803 Second St., damaged his passenger-side door and flattened a tire when he hit a curb Saturday night. He was driving without a license, insurance and registration, police said. Police said his blood-alcohol content was twice the legal limit to drive a motor vehicle. Donati was arraigned by District Judge Jay Dutton on Sunday and was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.

DONORA

Theft charge: Donora police charged Mark Trilli, 48, of 14 Mellon Ave., Donora, with theft after they said he attempted to steal 20 bags of calcium chloride Saturday night. Police said they caught Trilli loading the 50-pound bags worth $138 into a pickup truck behind the Elizabeth Miller building in the borough. Trilli was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Jay Dutton and released on $3,000 unsecured bond.

FALLOWFIELD TOWNSHIP

Assault charge: Larry Ray Farrah, 53, of 20 Beach Drive, Charleroi, was charged with simple assault and harassment after Fallowfield Township police said he pushed his wife, Jackie, down a flight of steps in their home Saturday night.

Jackie Farrah, 46, had minor lacerations and complained of neck pains, police said. Larry Farrah was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Jay Dutton and released on $2,000 unsecured bond.

PETERS TOWNSHIP

Windows broken: Windows in four equipment vehicles parked in an empty construction lot in the first block of Great Meadows Drive, Venetia, were broken between Friday and Monday morning, township police said.

A foreman for Victor Dosse Contracting, Venetia, reported the incident at 7:11 a.m. Monday. Damages are estimated at $600, police said.

Man cited: Jonathan Frings, 18, of 117 Breezwood Drive, Peters Township, was cited for criminal mischief and underage drinking after he blew up a mailbox late Sunday in the 100 block of Hardwood Drive, township police said.

Frings was one of five people in a pickup truck that police stopped after receiving a description of the vehicle from the homeowner. None of the other four occupants was cited, police said.

The damage, estimated at $200, occurred at 11:18 p.m. and was the result of fireworks, police said.

Criminal mischief: Police investigated a report of a group of juveniles removing survey markers from excavation areas in the first block of Great Meadows Drive at 3:27 p.m. Saturday, township police said.

Light broken: Glass in a light at the end of a drive in the 300 block of Bridle Trail, Venetia, was broken before 1:38 p.m. Friday, township police said.

WASHINGTON

Theft charge: City police plan to file theft charges against Robert D. Eckles, 41, of 959 Old Ridge Road, Avella, after he allegedly stole $300 while at a friend's house.

Police said Eckles was visiting Melvin Manes at 595 Maple Ave. in Washington when he took the money.

Hit with bottle: Jared Bedillion, 21, of Amity, suffered a cut to his forehead after he was struck in the head with a beer bottle during a fight at Hungry Jose's tavern, 227 S. Main St., Washington police said.

Bedillion refused treatment following the fight early Saturday and declined to press charges against the person who struck him.

Robbery attempt: Washington police said a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and white shoes walked into Brew Avenue shop, 1060 Jefferson Ave., about 9:35 a.m. Saturday and demanded money. Police said the man left without any money, though, when the clerk picked up a golf club to defend himself.

Van vandalized: A van parked at 405 Henderson Ave. was vandalized about 2 p.m. Saturday, city police said.

Window broken: Washington police said a brick was thrown through a window of a house at 663 Addison Ave. on Saturday night.
