Tank damaged: State police said the trailer tank of a rig owned by National City Commerical Capital Co. was damaged while it was parked over the weekend at Pilot Truck Stop, Bentleyville.

Driver injured: Kaylea Ashby, 23, of Prosperity, was slightly injured Wednesday when she pulled from Post Road onto Taylorstown Ridge Road, Blaine, into the path of a vehicle driven by William Anderson, 26, of Claysville, state police said. Police will cite her with a stop sign violation.

BURGETTSTOWN

Man jailed: Justin A. Williams, 26, of Piney Flats, Tenn., was arrested Thursday by Burgettstown police after he allegedly tried to force his way into a home at 111 Vian St.

Burgettstown police, who were busy on another call, asked Smith police for assistance. The Smith officer found Williams outside the home. According to police, Williams ignored the officer's orders to stop and started to run down Vian. When he was taken into custody, police found a knife in his pocket.

Williams was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of attempted burglary, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, loitering and prowling at night and possessing instruments of a crime. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $15,000 bond.

CANONSBURG

Vehicle damaged: Erica Briggs of California told Canonsburg police Sunday that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked next to 507 Euclid Ave. Charged with criminal mischief, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass was Paul Walden St., 35, of Hopwood. Police also were called to the home for a domestic disturbance involving Walden.

Car damaged: Vandals broke the antenna and damaged the car door of a vehicle owned by Erik Tarnik of 432 Chartiers Ave. Saturday, Canonsburg police said. The vandal, described as a white man wearing a blue hooded shirt, fled in a silver vehicle.

False ID charge: John Derek Billy, 18, of 609 Alpine Drive, Canonsburg, was charged by Canonsburg police with having false identification and trying to purchase alcohol. He used the false ID to try to purchase an alcoholic beverage Wednesday at Ross Beverage, police said.

Driver injured: Donna Marth, 47, of Hunting Creek Road, North Strabane Township, was injured Wednesday when her vehicle crashed into 50 to 70 feet of fence in the 1100 block of First Street, Canonsburg police said. She was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.

CHARLEROI

Jailed on warrant: Jamaine Payne, 19, of 516 Third St., Charleroi, was arrested Sunday by Charleroi police after an incident at 3101/2 Crest Ave. He was at the residence without permission, police said. Police placed Payne in a cruiser, but he got out and fled, only to be caught a short distance away.

Payne, who is wanted on an out-of-county bench warrant, was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of criminal trespass, flight to avoid apprehension, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Trespassing charge: Donald O. Cooper Jr., 33, of 1010 Upper Crest Ave., Charleroi, was arrested early Saturday by Charleroi police, who said he was found inside McDonald's, 318 McKean Ave., by the restaurant manager when he arrived to open for business.

Police said Cooper ate two bagels and a fruit and walnut salad in addition to drinking a carton of milk.

Cooper was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

DONEGAL TOWNSHIP

Jailed on charges: David W. Rogers, 54, of Newville, Cumberland County, was arrested by state police Sunday night at the welcome center on Interstate 70 east near Claysville, Donegal.

State police had received a report from police in West Virginia of a reckless driver. Police found Rogers at the rest area. He allegedly was intoxicated and driving a pickup truck that had been reported stolen Sept. 4 to state police in Carlisle. He also was wanted in Cumberland County on charges of drunken driving and careless driving.

Rogers refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test. He was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of receiving stolen property, driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest and driving under suspension. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond.

MARIANNA

Assault charge: Edsol Borger Jr., 23, of Marianna, was charged by state police with simple assault and propulsion of missiles stemming from a Nov. 24 incident on Fourth Street at Oklahoma Street, Marianna.

Police said Borger threw a brick on the road in the path of a vehicle occupied by Christy Ann Huseman of Fredericktown. He also allegedly hit Richard Lowry in the head with the wooden handle of a tool.

Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curt Thompson.

MT. PLEASANT TOWNSHIP

Vehicle flips: Stephen Taylor of Midway escaped injury Wednesday when his vehicle went off Top Street, Mt. Pleasant, state police said. His vehicle hit an embankment, flipped over and came to rest on its wheels in a yard at 10 Top.

NORTH FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP

Drug charge: Dwight D. Wright Jr., 31, of Verona, was charged by North Franklin police with possession of a small amount of marijuana when a vehicle in which he was a passenger was stopped Saturday on North Ring Road. Wright also was wanted on warrants from police in Allegheny County. Police said they also confiscated $1,530 from him.

Theft charge: James P. McCabe, 37, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, was charged Monday with retail theft stemming from the theft of a platinum battery from Sears, Washington Crown Center, on July 4. He also was charged with identity theft. When McCabe was originally arrested last summer, police said, he identified himself as Jim Walker.

Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Marjorie Teagarden.

Harassment charge: Amanda McGary of 362 Hancock St. told North Franklin police Thursday that Robert Grayson Jr. of Washington came to her home and hit her in the head. Grayson will be charged with harassment. Police said he is banned from the Woodland Apartments on Hancock.

Phony bill: An employee at Spencer Gifts told North Franklin police Saturday that a counterfeit $10 bill was passed at the store.

Harassment charge: Roger A. Breide, 28, of 2996 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was charged with harassment after allegedly punching his father, Ronald A. Breide of 920 McElree Road, in the head during a confrontation Saturday at his father's home. North Franklin police said the father was angry at his son for siphoning gasoline out of his junked vehicles.

Burglary reported: Vicki Dabiduk of 8 Grove Ave. told North Franklin police Saturday that her home was burglarized. She told police that a tan child's purse was stolen. The burglar also used a drink glass and spilled liquid on the floor.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Jailed for trespass: Joseph Smiley, 38, of 2006 Meadowridge Drive, North Strabane, was arrested early Thursday by North Strabane police after he was found inside a home on Woodbridge Drive. The homeowner, Alan Pero, told police he was awakened by a noise in the basement. He then found Smiley, police said.

Smiley was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of criminal trespass and public drunkenness. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Tools stolen: An air compressor, air nail gun, concrete rake and two generators were reported stolen Wednesday from a construction site at Ashwood condominiums, Washington Road, North Strabane police said. The tools are valued at $2,800, police said.

GPS stolen: A global positioning unit was reported stolen Saturday from a vehicle owned by Meridien Energy of Erie while it was parked at Hampton Inn, Racetrack Road.

Assault reported: Nicholas Dlugonski of North Franklin Township told North Strabane police he was assaulted by an unknown man at Auggie's, Route 19. Dlugonski said he was arguing with his girlfriend when he and the man got into a confrontation. He told police he did not wish to pursue charges.

Tub stolen: Kevin Massimino of 186 Galley Road told North Strabane police Wednesday that his bathtub with a whirlpool was stolen from his home.

PETERS TOWNSHIP

Car stolen: Peters police said a white 2000 Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen Monday morning from outside a home in the 100 block of Quail Run Road. The owner told police the car was stolen between 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. The keys may have been inside the vehicle.

Drug charges: Two Bethel Park boys, one 16 and the other 17 years old, face charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident Saturday night at CoGo's, McMurray Road.

After observing a car parked in the store's lot for a while, a Peters officer approached the vehicle. One of the car's occupants explained a smell by telling police they had set a gum wrapper on fire. Two of the boys seemed dazed. Police found a small amount of marijuana and a bong.

Assault arrest: Raquel Gardner, 39, of 459 McCombs Road, Peters, was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly assaulted her daughter at a neighbor's home.

Police said the two had gone to visit the neighbor when they got into a confrontation. According to police, Gardner, who was highly intoxicated, kicked and bit her daughter. The daughter went home, told her father what happened and called police.

Gardner was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on a charge of simple assault and placed in Washington County Jail on $2,500 bond.

SOMERSET TOWNSHIP

Tools stolen: Albert L. Conner of 315 Roberts Road told state police a pressure washer, two torpedo heaters and a set of Craftsman tools were stolen from his barn between Friday night and Sunday morning.

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Interstate crashes: Congested interstates Sunday afternoon resulted in two crashes, one on Interstate 70 west near Beau Street and another on Interstate 79 south near Racetrack Road, South Strabane.

State police said Eric McElravy, 19, of Washington, and Samuel Cummins of Washington, D.C., escaped injury in the crash on I-70.

Daniel Pollock, 20, of Slippery Rock, will be cited for driving too closely stemming from the I-79 crash. Others involved in the crash were Ashley Mohr, 24, of Canonsburg, and William Benham, 57, of Loveland, Ohio. None of the drivers was injured.

Four-vehicle crash: Ronald Herman, 53, of Washington, was slightly injured Wednesday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 north, South Strabane.

State police said a vehicle driven by Brian Martin, 27, of Hagerstown, Md., was driving too closely when he crashed into Herman's vehicle, which had been stopped for traffic, causing the chain-reaction mishap. The other drivers were identified as Christopher Slaton, 43, of Bridgeport, W.Va., and Michael Burgess, 55, of Charlotte, N.C. Martin was cited by police for following too closely.

Theft charges: Daniel Streete, 22, and Jamie Lynn Brown, 30, both of 415 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, will be charged with retail theft after they stole 26 items valued at almost $257 from Wal-Mart, Trinity Point, Saturday, South Strabane police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Driver injured: Margaret Bickerstaff, 78, of Eagle Pointe Drive, Cecil Township, was slightly injured Friday afternoon when her car was struck from behind by a car driven by Joann Romano, 50, of Birch Way, Muse. South Strabane police said Bickerstaff was stopped for traffic in the 1100 block of Washington Road when her car was hit.

Fugitive arrest: Keith J. Scott, 35, of Philadelphia, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Jay Weller as a fugitive. South Strabane police had contact with Scott over the weekend and learned that he is wanted in Anne Arundel County, Md., for failure to appear on a drunken-driving charge.

He was placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.

WASHINGTON

Money stolen: Matthew Harvey of 1194 Summerlea Ave. told police that, while he had visitors Wednesday, $500 was stolen out of his jacket pocket.

Drugs stolen: Christiona Soisson of 54 W. Main St. told Washington police Nov. 25 that she tried to fill her Xanax prescription at Walgreens at Jefferson Avenue and Chestnut Street and was told it had been filled Nov. 17. Police viewed a store tape showing the woman who had picked up the prescription, and Soisson told police she didn't know anyone who matched her description.

Handguns stolen: Jamaal Brown of 122 Ridge Ave., Apt. B, told Washington police Thursday that he had returned to his home Wednesday evening and found his door kicked down. Pry bar marks and footprints were on his door. Four handguns - a Cobray Mac 11 9 mm, a Rock Island .45-caliber, a Baretta Bobcat .22-caliber and a Glock 22 .40-caliber - were stolen from his bedroom. Nothing else was missing.

Money stolen: Washington police noticed that the back door of Arms Club, 427 E. Maiden St., was wide open about 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police searched the building and found the office door ajar. Two cash drawers and Wednesday's proceeds were missing. There was no sign of forced entry.

Burglary reported: Matthew Eckert of 1090 Michigan Avenue, Apt. 1, told Washington police that two unknown men entered his apartment at 12:51 a.m. Monday and held him at gunpoint, demanding marijuana and money. One man was wearing a black bandana, and another was wearing a black ski mask. One grabbed Eckert and hit him on the left side of his head. The other forced his girlfriend to get on the floor while they were asking for the drugs and money. They left after asking for "James."

Theft reported: Linda Moore of Washington told city police that she was visiting friends at 695 W. Chestnut St. at 3 p.m. Saturday when she came in contact with her former boyfriend. She said he removed $155 from her car.

Underage citations: Washington police cited six people for underage drinking about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Police were called for a disturbance at 1010 Sycamore St. The owner gave them permission to search the home, police said, and they found intoxicated juveniles in the basement, along with empty beer cans and burnt marijuana. Those cited were: Caleb Pemberton, 19, of 1010 Sycamore St., Washington; Ramonte Barfield, 18, of 140 Maple Terrace, Washington; Paige Spara, 19, of 765 Summerlea Ave., Washington; Megan Brzustowiciz, 18, of 56 McKennan Ave., East Washington; Vanessa Fristick, 19, of 214 North Ave., East Washington; and Chancey Roioion, 19, of 365 N. Main St., Washington.

Assault reported: Adam Plantz of Jefferson Hills told city police Friday that he was punched while he was at May'rz Inn, 165 S. Main St., Nov. 5. He said he fell to the ground and was knocked out. While he was down, someone stomped on his legs, which caused a broken ankle that required surgery. Plantz told police that friends had told him who did it.
