Accident causes power outage and school delay in Peters

According to Washington County 911, at 2:53 a.m. a vehicle struck a utility pole in the 500 block of East McMurray Road in Peters Township, causing a power outage. The driver suffered injuries and was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital. There is no word on the driver's identity or condition.

East McMurray Road remains blocked while crews from Allegheny Power work to replace the pole and restore power. As a result, Peters Township School District has a 2-hour delay.
