Venetia man killed in South Fayette crash

A Venetia man died Tuesday when the car he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic on Washington Pike in Allegheny County and crashed into another car.

J. Robert Wilson, 77, died in the 3:30 p.m. crash in South Fayette, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner said. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the medical examiner.


The other driver, an identified woman from Bridgeville, suffered severe injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, South Fayette police said.

Washington Pike near Bridgeville was closed for more than three hours as police investigated the crash.
